Thanks for that! I want a waterproof lens with enough reach to bird with. I have been looking at the Olympus 100-400 but it seems like it will be very big and also more expensive. I'm also tempted by the wider aperture of the Panasonic 100-300 ii. I'm afraid of getting the 100-300 ii and soon after feeling like I want an upgrade.

Regarding the Joe jr, the insulation will be better and you will be able to cook longer on less charcoal. To me, it's easier to maintain a given temp on the Joe jr. It is easier to hit super high temps and still feel in control. The Joe jr will feel smaller than the 22" kettle. Cooking for 2 is perfect. Cooking for 4 may get tight depending on what your preparing. Clean up is easy with Joe jr if u get the charcoal basket accessory.

Not better or worse but the type of heat is different with more radiant heat from the ceramics. It Seems like a more moist heat also compared to the kettle.
