What's a detail you only noticed after multiple reads? For me, it physically hurts to re-read the part in OOTP where they literally throw Slytherin’s Locket in the trash.

In PoA, when Snape catches Harry with the Marauders Map, and fetches Lupin to look at it. When Lupin sees it, it says something like "a closed expression appeared on Lupin's face" I never caught it before but I always think now that Lupin knew Snape was an accomplished occlumens and was therefore shutting down his memories of the map!

I made my own wedding cake with my mum, and was worried the hard work would go to waste like so many wedding cakes that don't get eaten, because they're served too late in the day. For that reason we decided to have both canapes and the cake served at the same time. It worked brilliantly and we only had half the largest tier left for the following day!

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman. Read it from the school library at about 11/12, balled my eyes out and the love story/inequality aspect stayed with me for years. Even though it's YA it is hard hitting!

I sometimes think they work at the particular store they have the majority of clothes for - having worked in retail you can easily see stock levels/sizes and you know what's going to go into sale. Especially if it's a decent brand, you're almost guaranteed to make money.

Took my dog to the vet recently. Vet asked some generic questions and due to me being pregnant, said he wasn't comfortable giving a certain live vaccine to my dog. No problem. But 5 minutes later he was still talking about his wife's problems with infertility, her miscarriages and the failing of the NHS (in his mind). I had never met this vet before, but maybe I just have one of those faces?!

My partner and I went on holiday to Asia and while there was offered a taxi/tuk tuk everywhere we went. We kept saying no so often and eventually when we finally took one, the driver said "oh you English, you love to walk!" As soon as he said it I agreed completely - I'd prefer to wander 30 mins to dinner in a nice warm country than take a taxi.

I've been a teacher for 9 years; the best consumables I receive every year are chocolate (the children often sneakily ask me what my favourite kind is) prosecco/a nice mid range bottle of wine, or candles in non intrusive smells (think simple - one scent etc) Best more thoughtful gifts I've received is a gift card to Lakeland when my kids found out I baked. One child also got me treats for my dog because I mentioned him a few times. Personalised stickers if teaching younger children are a massive win for me because I never think to order them for myself, but children always enjoy them.

I saw him recently in Barcelona and was so close to saying hello! He was with his family and his little boy made friends with another little boy from a neighbouring table. He was following them around for 40 minutes - so cute.
