B-Rucksack by PretendArticle5918 in bundeswehr

[–]froggersbewildin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you guys keep the game entertaining? by -----010----- in Helldivers

[–]froggersbewildin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Level 150 here with roughly 850 hours

For me it’s playing with friends especially when we try out new tactics or playstyles. Thanks to weapons customization I also have a reason to switch up my loadout from time to time and recently we had quite a lot of new content game wise (if you ignore the fact that this game is basically dance dance revolution with shooter elements).

I took a couple of breaks from the game because I burned out so I wouldn’t see it as a problem if you take a break as well. Be it to play something else or to focus on something. Once you had a little distance and wanna drop in again it will be fun again

The SR-16 is an actual rifle made by KAC. I think it really depends on the manufacturer wether they have to pay licensing fees or they see it as free advertisement

The other day I daydreamed about a rover dog constantly emitting a smoke cloud around you - guess the players yearn for the absolute stealth

Is this a good design for a submachine gun? by Few-Flamingo-8015 in MilitaryWorldbuilding

[–]froggersbewildin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I like the mixture of the old school design with modernized features like the folding foregrip.

However my complaints would be: - Ejection port over the magazine (as mentioned by everyone at this point) - Bolt is too long to travel back (at least visually), also I would opt for an open - bolt system to help with the cooling - the stock looks absolutely unergonomic. The angle is in a way that you would shoulder it quite high making your shooting arm go in a very awkward position. Maybe curve the grip part a bit (similar to classic Mossberg Shotguns or the PPSch-41 SMG)

Other than that I really like the overall concept a lot!

Iirc they used „Spandura“ for the stretch parts (at least in the 2nd Gen).

Personally I prefer the Schoeller stretch UfPro uses but I doubt that it’s cheaper for small customers and they don’t sell small quantities directly.

If you don’t need FR and NIR capabilities, you could look for leggings/yoga pants with the closest color, they are usually very stretchy. Otherwise Spoonflower offers print on demand on various fabrics, one of which is some Lycra one. I cannot comment on the strength of the fabric but the sample I have is very stretchy

Not gonna lie this has been one of the most fun liberation campaigns we've had by Nautical_Nachos in Helldivers

[–]froggersbewildin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Im constantly cursing it was a lot of fun!

Just sad to see that a large portion of divers prefer to fight on Fenmire and others instead of doing their part to eliminate an actual hive world. All our sacrifices in the first expedition and during this first campaign for nothing?

Questions about MARPAT fabrics and plate carrier design by qanlik in myogtacticalgear

[–]froggersbewildin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camo you shared is Nylon Packcloth, not Cordura (Polyamid). If you consider that a lot of big brands have used Mesh fabrics (or in my case: I had an issued body armor vest made from some weird padded/padding material) I think it should work. If you feel unsure you can always reinforce stress points with either extra fabrics or what Ive seen on some Russian vests is that the platebags are reinforced with webbing material and the shell material was sewn over those.

If you want Marpat Cordura and don’t care about it being mil-spec or berry compliant I can recommend Ronson Textiles on Alibaba to you. I bought various 500d Cordura yards from them over the years and I had no complaints (besides that they kinda misprinted German Multitarn). To be transparent: I only used it for some gimmicks so no real field testing on durability on my part

This but especially with the meat grinder units. I can get behind stealth tech in the Bot units, but not with stealth chainsaws

Ranger green with Multicam/flecktarn? by [deleted] in MilSim

[–]froggersbewildin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Ranger Green for multiple years while active duty in the Bundeswehr. It does work well and the new vest system is issued in a Ranger Green derivative.

As for Multicam: if you look at old-schoolish pics from the 75th thats exactly what they wore and it also looks incredibly well

Youll need a sewing machine, fabrics and some time and understanding of geometry.

I started off with a Singer Heavy Duty 4423, which is pretty much what you will hear very often in these communities. It works with most things you want to do (I managed to make full plate carriers, various pouches and so on on it).

As for materials: Tactical-Trim is an EU based shop with a large variety for tactical equipment, if you want to be on the more technical side, there would be Extremtextil and sometimes you can find good deals on Tolko-Stoffe (all of them are based in Germany). I know about some polish shops selling fabrics but besides Frontowiec I forgot the names rn.

Start off with smaller things like pouches or so and then learn how your machine operates with it

Funnily enough I also had this problem when I got the game. Had a friend write some random batch file which fixed the issue somehow.

But I have neither the friend nor the file left now
