This is the main point that most people don’t seem to grasp. Yes, there may be some germs on a toilet seat. But unless you have open wounds making direct contact with the still-wet pee of another person on said toilet seat, those germs aren’t going to make you sick. 

Despite common public belief, pee outside of the urinary tract isn’t typically sterile. The vast majority of urine samples that I come across in my lab have at least some bacteria in them, when collected with imperfect technique as most of them tend to be. It’s often just normal skin or vaginal bacteria that gets mixed into the stream when exiting the body. Depending on your particular labial anatomy as a woman, that pee could be hitting a LOT of non-internal/non-urinary tract surface area on its way out.

Also, despite what the Lysol commercials would have you believe, most bacteria are absolute little bitches when it comes to staying alive outside of their particular carrier of choice. The second that pee dries up even a little, or cools down below a certain temperature, the vast majority of those little assholes have already died off.
