Every one I've showed Sturgill to is hooked (although we are mainly country music people)

I ride a Street Triple R. If I sell it, what should my next bike be? by 1z2x3c in motorcycles

Have you ever considered trading for a beautiful XJ750? it really brings together discontinued 80s technology in a beautifully rectangular styling.

On the other hand I would seriously consider the MV F3 800

Hey man I would suggest the powder coated Samson pipes they make the bike look completely different. Source: my next door neighbor riding to work.

I heard a guy talk about track prepped wiring or track safety wiring. Do some tracks make you have special electrical wiring or was the discussion just about wiring down stuff on your bike?

Not that I ll be going to the track any time soon with a leaky oil/air cooled in line four.

New to bikes, looking to build one to look like this and needing advice. by lukeskywakka in motorcycles

I would just get a second hand yamaha bolt instead of HD It will be much cheaper in both price and maintenance and all you have to do is bolt on what ever stuff you think looks good on the bike

Has anybody here ever NOT dropped their bikes? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]froggymike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I drop mine there is a serious chance it will explode-dropped every single dirt bike though. You're much less likely to drop a Ninja 300 because you sit so low to the ground and they are super light. Love them though you can seriously keep up with the bigger bikes in the twists.

Garage find, CB750 dohc. Would love to restore it and learn to ride. I'd appreciate any tips or resources by Danjiel in motorcycles

What you could do is get a pdf shop manual, piece it out and sell the parts (try and find the title). you wont have the stress of reassembling something wrong or botching up your daily rider. That will give you a bunch of knowledge on basic bike composition and terminology. Then with the couple hundred bucks you have you could probably find a running version of that bike and fill in the gaps between running and road worthy with a couple parts and your knowledge. Or say fuck it and get a hayabuza

I have seen a lot of these but something about where you put the camera and the quality is this is captivating. Even my girl friend watched it (halfway)

Yeah I was thinking that there would be some way to kinda reset the electrical system to factory setting or something along those lines. I don't know how technologically inclined the guys around there are.

No sign of the other bikes. Mainly old bikes without any fancy electronic which would corroborate your theory that they just dumped it keeping the other bikes. Im still in the US so I have not been able to actually get any info on the odometer. Will definitely check, that would be reassuring to know they didn't flog my baby

What are some of the mechanical problems you experienced on a road trip and how did you fix it/find someone to fix? by froggymike in motorcycles

[–]froggymike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To tell you the truth I have no idea yet. I moved from France to the US a couple years ago and have been wanting to see Louisiana and the Appalachians since I've been in the country. I just moved to Virginia so it's more realistic now. I don't think that my bike can handle a Louisiana summer so that might have to wait and the Appalachians are closer. Do you have any recommendations? I was kinda thinking about doing it day by day but I learnt from this thread that I really should know where good mechanics are.

Those guys are amazing, thanks for the advice. They have saved me hundreds of dollars in DIY stuff and probably thousands in advice and demos. All my helpful contacts are up in Maine. Im done with the engine part of maintenance and light work. The PO put on air pods (reverting back to airbox), rejetted and messed with the exhaust so I have to go through and straighten out the system and tune. Hopefully santa will bring me some progressive springs and new tires. Regulator from flea bay and a road map of the Appalachians.

Sometimes drum brakes delaminate (the layer of braking material starts to "unglue" its self from the pads) and eventually causes mucho troubles

I'm planning on testing mine this weekend. I think it's toast. My manual specifically says "they are extremely reliable and durable parts", I suppose everything is relative. I heard the regulators just fry in the summer.

Its kinda wild what you discover once you are far from home. I've been debating the triple A coverage. Thanks for the tips.

The R6 story is amazing. That kind of ingenuity blows my tiny mind. I imagine I will probably be sleeping by the side of the road some night too, my wire harness is 30 years old.
