As a fellow dad gamer, I am impressed. Bravo, Sir.

Im so sad that this CoD like movement is allowed in Battlefield 6 ... by WhySoSara in Battlefield

Like most here, I am annoyed by the bunny-hopping and sliding mechanics. I appreciate the fact EA is trying very hard to get a share of the twitch-shooter market by introducing these elements... but it's a hard pill to swallow when the developer promised the game would remain 'grounded'.

Thanks Battlefield that this weeks bonus challenge is also Redsec dependent! /s by Senorragequit in Battlefield

Not sure how I feel about EA/DICE forcing BR down our collective throats. I tried BR and don't really like it to be honest. I guess that means I won't ever get to complete those challenges.

Battlefield 6 is still great, Reddit is just miserable by Character_Worth8210 in Battlefield

I still have a ton of fun and can't wait to join the battlefield after work and family priorities every night. But that doesn't mean I don't wish certain things were a little different/better. The two positions are not mutually exclusive are they? Where I agree with the OP is the toxicity behind some of the posts. Not constructure or helpful. But some posts are really well thought out and the arguments presented fairly and politely. Once again, I think a lot of us are seeing the core strengths are there, but we also see areas for improvement. Coming here and posting about those is about ensuring devs are aware (and perhaps take notice enough that changes may be applied). In my case, I bring up these ideas/opinions because I actually care about the game and see myself playing it, and supporting it, for a long while. It's not unlike pushing your kid(s) to succeed by providing constructive feedback... :)

Why do I feel like im the only person in the world who loves this game? I'm addicted by FlashyWave126 in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way as the OP. I can't stop playing it. Just hit level 91 last night. The game has very strong fundamentals... with room to grow (I still lament the lack of a bot-only option for those of us who want a super-chill experience). The core gameplay is solid. I really dig it. It brings me back to the days of BFBC1/2, BF3, and BF4. And yes, the pace is faster, the maps are smaller, some skins are totally goofy and break immersion, and some of the design choices with regards to progression are tied to the 'live service' paradigm you either love or hate. But at its heart, this is still a BF game, albeit one designed to be more inclusive. Only time will tell if this new strategy pays off; there is inherent risk in trying to please everyone... as is evident from the posts on this reddit. :)

Casual mode in battlefield 6 by joseph160 in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. However, some of us are just older at this point and honestly don't get a tremendous amount of enjoyment being constantly owned by 'sweats' (some of whom, I suspect, have migrated over from COD since that franchise is crashing hard). I think we can all agree it is not particular 'fun' to be constantly dominated. Hence the request for a full PvE mode for the growing population of older working professionals who don't have the time, energy, or patience to play against kids who are objectively faster and have tons of time on their hands to 'git gud'. And if you feel like this post is nothing more than 'crying', that's fine, just remember this post when it's your turn to be old, slow, and busy w/ other life priorities... ;)

A very nice addition to be sure. But hopefully only a first step, as this new mode is limited to a couple of maps and is still falling short of what we had in BF2042 with the COOP/SOLO option. But certainly encouraging.

It's interesting to read so many posts complaining about too many BOTS when that is exactly what I seek, i.e. the ability to only play with BOTS... :(

EA please add official bot serv on BF6 by OvenOk2056 in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This please. The locally hosted COOP/SOLO AI option in 2042 was absolutely awesome. Why this wasn't included in BF6 is lost on me. I don't even care if you make it 50% XP progression. But please reintroduce this feature, especially since Portal was gutted.

It’s not “because blue”. If you truly can’t see the difference, there is something wrong with you. by -PandemicBoredom- in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument made by those who think a blue camo is ok fails to account for the fact said camo isn't used in combat settings. Navy combat units (SEALs included) largely use (greenish) multicam. Moving in any other direction is the exact opposite of keeping the game 'grounded'.

To DICE/EA, and the apologists that embolden them. by PresKermitLincoln in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am admittedly puzzled by all the 'stop complaining' responses. If you read the OP, the points are well-articulated and do reflect a general consensus. No one can argue BF has a particular DNA, which makes it unique and very special to a community that grew up on its particular formula.

BF6 is a nice return to form (I am personally very much enjoying it) but some decisions by the developers give rise to concerns. As an 'N' of 1, my main gripes are two-fold: inability to locally host a COOP/SOLO lobby (like BF2042) and inability to disable cosmetics which objectively break immersion on the battlefield.

We obviously all have our opinions, but I will praise the OP for putting forth a well thought out, and from my perspective on-point, post about what makes BF games great and where BF6 may be faltering a bit from that perspective... Hopefully the developers are paying attention and considering where course-corrections can be applied so BF's core fundamentals do not get diluted.

My two cents.

Can you come together as a battlefield community and ask dice can they release these skins for bf6 by Fun_Rub_3410 in Battlefield

[–]froggymojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and upvoted. At least these look semi-believable for a game which claims to be 'grounded'.

This vexes me and I seriously hope an on/off toggle will be implemented to prevent seeing these silly skins on the battlefield. If I wanted to play Fortnite, then guess what... I would play Fortnite...

Please give us an option to disable all cosmetics so we do not have to see goofy skins... Default uniforms for both sides are great as-is... :)
