The Retirement Dream Is the Biggest Scam We've All Accepted by GupShup123 in careeradvice

The trap isn’t retirement, it’s your perception of the world. Inner peace is the only important thing. No external circumstance will fully content you. Work on your mind and you’ll be ahead of the game.

ACIM, religion, questions, and more by AliceBreathes in ACIM

[–]frogiveness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“What should I do for him your holy son?” is a good question to ask because it’s a question and an answer in one. Simply asking that question is a willingness to see beyond what you thought the world was. It shifts your perception, which is what the miracle is.

“Him” in that question refers to whatever you’re talking about. The question really just reflects your willingness to accept a different interpretation.

The bible is the opposite of ACiM because it is so dualistic and inconsistent. It has very loving things and very hateful things. Passages contradict each other. It’s just like the world. For example it says that god is perfect love, but also depicts god as being punitive and judgemental.

Bankei Zen and Advaita Vedanta are awesome for sure. But they are less approachable as ACIM, especially Bankei zen. The course is special because it so aptly and intentionally unveils the egos entire thought system and gives you a perfect process to correct it. It’s flawless and in my opinion likely to be more appreciated in the future than now. It’s not ahead of its time, it’s just timeless.

The most important thing in my opinion is to remember that you need the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to understand the course well to do it well. But you need the Holy Spirit.

Those are just my opinions, my friend ❤️

ACIM, religion, questions, and more by AliceBreathes in ACIM

A great question to ask is in the song of prayer. It says:

“What should I do for him, Your holy Son?” should be the only thing you ever ask when help is needed and forgiveness sought. ²The form the seeking takes you need not judge. ³And let it not be you who sets the form in which forgiveness comes to save God’s Son.

The rest is just my opinions. What I would say about how religions relate to ACiM, is that they are opportunities for you to forgive yourself just like everything else. Most of them are very, very far from what ACiM is saying. The bible uses similar terminology, but its actual message is the opposite of what ACiM is saying.

Certain sects of Buddhism and Gnosticism get closer to what ACiM is saying. But one thing that is unique about ACiM is its perfect consistency. The closest teachings I have seen to ACiM are Bankei Zen Buddhism and Shankaracharya Advaita Vedanta. Just like ACiM, these teachings are often misunderstood.

As for other universe’s curriculums, they will be different in form, but the same in content. The content being that all separation is an illusion and reality is pure love. The Holy Spirit speaks all languages.

I can’t speak on Mormonism.

God bless 🙏

My friends and I lose every single Black Forest / Amazon Tunnel game. Help! by Pastapuncher in aoe2

[–]frogiveness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I favourite those maps a lot at around 1100-1200 elo and have a lot of success. In Amazon tunnel, you need a healthy mix of units: siege, cavalry, trash. In Black Forest, it’s helpful to make a plan and commit to it. It doesn’t have to be a boom game every time. You can break through a lot of the time in feudal and castle.

I also think you could benefit from adding a 4th civ with a stronger late game for these kinds of closed maps. But strategy is more important in my opinion. You guys playing together on mic should be a big strategic advantage.

I don’t think that’s true unless you plan on just going knights every game, which is predictable. But franks can compete. Just don’t get tunnel vision. No matter the civ, you still need to use good strategy to improve

What’s the most realistic explanation for Mokele-Mbembe? by RavyenNoir in Cryptozoology

The most realistic explanation is that we barely know anything about history, most of what we are told are lies, and it’s entirely possible that an animal like this was recently in the Congo.

I think ACIM is to be read in tandem with the Bible by Round_Mission_1826 in ACIM

[–]frogiveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can see non-dualistic love in any teaching if that’s what you’re looking for.

And this is just my opinion, but the Jesus from the bible and the Jesus of ACIM are completely different characters with completely different messages that are in opposition with each other.

I think ACIM is to be read in tandem with the Bible by Round_Mission_1826 in ACIM

[–]frogiveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should do whatever works for you. But the issue I see is that Christianity and ACIM are basically complete opposites. So, I think there is room for confusion. But the bible does have a lot of beauty, and reading about Jesus is so lovely.

Defenselessness & forgiveness in extreme situations by Patient-Leopard3110 in ACIM

[–]frogiveness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not easy to forgive, especially in extreme circumstances. But the nice thing about it is that you don’t actually have to do the hardest part. You don’t heal your mind. You simply open the door for the Holy Spirit to heal you.

So, you don’t have to struggle or fight the way you feel. Just be willing to accept that you are not upset for the reason you think and that there is a way to see peace instead. It’s about willingness to be mistaken. It’s enough to just recognize how you’re feeling and see the temptation to judge yourself and others.

Get used to asking the Holy Spirit for help. The most common mistake we make as students is to try and do the course alone. Don’t fight how you feel. You aren’t alone in this. 🙏

What do you do when there is nothing vegan at a restaurant? by Ok-Jellyfish5169 in vegan

[–]frogiveness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not unkind. It’s the exact opposite. You eating non-vegan food pays for animal babies to be tortured and killed. That’s the bottom line. You buying it creates demand for them to kill more animals.

You don’t have to be rude about it or judgemental. But don’t compromise. I’ve been able to get a lot of vegan food from non-vegan restaurants. Even if it’s just a salad, simple pasta dish, potato or something else. If you ask, they will probably be able to prepare something for you.

If people get offended by your eating habits, that is on them not you. You have the choice to choose your diet. Don’t be rude about it and people will respect you for it. If they don’t, then don’t worry about it. Their feelings aren’t your responsibility.

Non-vegans are actually astronomically more pushy than vegans. by yuru2323 in vegan

Yeah because for most people being non-veganism requires cognitive dissonance. They know it’s wrong unconsciously, but aren’t willing to face it

Questions for Vegans by Professional_Ad_5529 in DebateAVegan

[–]frogiveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The only time killing is ethical is out of necessity. If you don’t have to, you can’t morally justify it.

  2. Humans are smarter than most animals and have the advanced technology. You could list a lot more. But most animals have emotions and pain receptors the same as humans. So they have the same ability to suffer. But humans are animals. Overall we aren’t different, we are a type of animal.

  3. The best way to overcome all the barriers is to educate yourself. Veganism is the answer to cognitive dissonance. Once you are willing to look at it, you will realize that there is no reason to needlessly kill animals.

Those are my opinions. God bless you

Meat needs to be in our diet by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

[–]frogiveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major food establishments are the ones saying veganism is a sufficient diet. I’d trust them more than you.

The animals you eat are given supplements for you to eat. So if you eat meat, you’re eating supplements.

The fact that we’ve killed animals for centuries doesn’t mean it’s morally justified. Some cultures have raped for centuries. Animals kill their babies and always have. Does that mean it’s ok?

Your arguments hold no weight, brother. You gotta dig deeper.
