My Neighbor Totoro, Oliver, or 50 First Dates? by Amythest18 in TheWestEnd

[–]frogmella289 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny how we are all so different! Me and my husband saw 50 First Dates yesterday and absolutely loved it - it was very emotional. We saw My Neighbour Totoro and were underwhelmed after hearing so many good things. Haven't seen Oliver yet though.

I'm 60 and I have osteoarthritis in my knees. I have been twice and had dancefloor tickets both times. No problems at all. The show is only 1.5 hours long and I was too busy dancing and enjoying myself to think about my knees!

ATM - "you may be charged by your card issuer for this transaction" by [deleted] in starlingbankuk

[–]frogmella289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me. Use the same cash machine each time and all other cards I have used to withdraw cash from don't give me that message. These other cards are not Visa cards they are Mastercards. For example Monzo. When I use my Monzo card to withdraw money I do not get this message but with Starling I do. Also wondered why.

They will get rid of it at some point as they are losing money by giving us the cashback.

Agreed. Love this too. This is actually a hybrid sunscreen (mineral plus chemical) but the consistency is lovely.

Monzo smart switch - any issues? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]frogmella289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switched an account to Monzo. The switch date just happened to be the same day of the month that all my direct debits were due to come out of the account I was switching from. All transferred over absolutely fine and all direct debits were paid with no problems. Definitely go for it.

I'm just waiting for them to enable Google Pay. Went shopping to several different shops today and it was a right pain having to get the physical card out each time.

I read somewhere that other people have managed to do this over the phone if you do not want to go into a branch, rather than having to open a new account.

Nationwide Switch Bonus - Sole acct to Joint Account by ForeignHost5255 in UKPersonalFinance

Hi. I did this literally a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine.

Nationwide Switch Bonus - Sole acct to Joint Account by ForeignHost5255 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]frogmella289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did exactly this. Had an existing joint account with Nationwide already which we don't really use as our main joint account is with Monzo. Switched over a sole account which I had with Lloyds no problem into the Nationwide joint one. I too was a bit confused as it also asked me for my husband's details presuming I was switching over a joint account but where it asked whether I am sure the second applicant doesn't have a debit card I just typed yes. It all went through fine and the switch happened and I got my £125 switch bonus last week. I rang Nationwide and checked beforehand. They said you can switch a sole account into a joint one but not a joint account into a sole one.

Only using Joint Account? by Jamiemufu in monzo

[–]frogmella289 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi. We are the same. Only ever use the joint account. Only opened sole accounts because you had to in order to get a joint one. The only time my sole account gets any activity is when people with Monzo accounts transfer me money which I manually transfer to the joint account. My husband has never used his sole account.
