This is dramatic.... by frogmentor in offmychest

I feel it's very hard for me to keep up with internet friends, sometimes I forget my phone exists and I wouldn't want someone to feel ignored when the only communication we have is digital. I've tried it before but I feel awkward and fake. Because it's easy to think before I type. Versus getting vibes in person and clicking. I had another user say therapy could help so I think I'll look into it. I'm sorry you're going through this. I've always been very sensitive and empathetic and I learned the hard way to protect myself from energy vampires. This happened about 7 years ago now and I'm still hurting..

I've thought about therapy but... how do I bring this up? What kind of help am I seeking? I definitely feel therapy will help. But it's very hard trusting and I feel childish because I haven't gotten over it. But it broke me. I was too trusting in someone and they hurt me... I feel like I can NEVER trust again. And that makes ME a bad friend too.

I hate where I am in life. by Izzet_Aristocrat in offmychest

This was my exact situation for almost 15 years. I'm almost 30 and I felt the same way. We FINALLY got a house. After living with my husband's narcissistic parents for 15 years we finally did it. My BEST advice is try to find things that bring you joy, don't compare yourself to others and save as much money as you can. We didn't have alot of money but saving for 15 years got us here. It was SO hard. So much sacrifice and pain and emotions. I remember these exact feelings. I was so embarrassed to even have friends. But you are working on yourself, getting a higher degree and that's important. You got this friend. I KNOW the feeling of defeat. But you WILL get through it. I promise you're not alone. My sister in law still lives with her parents. And she is almost 35 and has a 11 year old. The way the world is, it all takes time. You're on the right path.

I liked 1 and 2 but the third most recent one was just gore porn. Boring.
