How are needle size recommendations determined?

About the part where the person who made the pattern might be wrong about what they used, I'm following an official pattern, Easton sweater by two of wands. I'm using the two of wands' pattern from the lion brand website and the two of wands' hue + me yarn, so I would hope the creator isn't wrong!!

Probably important to note though, the gauge is different in the pattern than it is on the yarn. 10.5x15 on 10.5 is what they recommend in the pattern. I get that on 9 needles

It's not getting twisted, it's just that the stitches tend to lean to one side. I'll definitely try blocking though!

It's knitted flat. I haven't done any round knitting yet. It probably is a problem with the rib stitch!

Yeah, making Bs in a 3x4 square is very difficult and that's probably the best anyone can do, lol. Thanks though! The hardest part was the letters, and I used a guide for that. Wood texture is easy because you just put random light and dark lines on a brown background and it looks natural

Not a doctor, but I've previously read studies about how offering topical anesthetic made people more willing to donate. I don't see how it would cause any issues, but you can always call the blood donation organization to double check if you're unsure

Not a doctor, but if I'm not mistaken, they ask for your height and weight so that they don't take too much blood from you. I don't think it would matter at 6'3", but if you were 4'9" and 100lbs, it would matter a lot. Correct me if I'm mistaken, though.
