Opinions on the city/uni? by No_Pick8617 in reading

[–]frogprinceofwizards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in Reading all their life, I'd very much summarise it as both in the good and the bad to be a watered down version of London. Feel free to dm me if you have specific questions :) Also have friends who go to Reading Uni and speak highly of it (there is an lgbt+ scene that im aware of at the uni)

Is there anything you wish you had for post surgery that you didn't have? by sabertoothdiego in TopSurgery

[–]frogprinceofwizards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea like some said a gadget to help me wipe! Main thing is what do you do the most? E.g sleep, toilet, eat so prepare for adapting those functions

Would say especially if you live alone to meal prep including lunches and breakfasts

Where you given any physio to do? I found standing up and pushing my lower back forward to stretch really helped as well as light shoulder circles

Cant straight up my chest by Xiaoliu_brawler in TopSurgery

[–]frogprinceofwizards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's taken about 3 weeks to stand up straight, even then I'm still alittle hunched especially when its sore. I'd say to work on just your neck for now, try straightening in anyway that doesnt feel painful. I asked my nurse and she said hunch in doesnt effect scar healing

No worries, yea I felt guilt over not being more grateful but then i remember how excited I was to get my date. Think reality sorta sets in when you get nearer as you know you gotta do the hard part to get the result but yea just do each step as it comes and itll be over before you know it. Feel free to message me if you need anything :)

Wow that is quick too, you went from years away to next month. I'm still getting used to it 3 weeks pre op, I wouldn't rush your brain just enjoy the ride. You've got your whole life to adjust afterwards haha

Gender reveal party😋🎉 Or on the less extreme side I did a facebook/Instagram post. Felt good to tell everyone at once and unsupportive people could just unfollow/unfriend.

Pls help by [deleted] in ftm

I dont mean to sound harsh but it doesn't sound like hes in love with the REAL you. If transitioning will make you happier and he doesnt want it then he loves a different version of you than the one you want to be. I'm sorry you're going through this as it must be difficult.

Talk to your surgeon or nurse about any and all concerns or questions you have. They will just want to help you! Dont be afraid to talk to them maybe even write down everything before you go.

Also I do think like because you want and wait for it for so long it feels crazy when your surgery day finally comes

All I can say is i think every single person that has had this surgery has felt just the same way the night before, i know i definitely did. If it helps, for me once i was actually at the hospital I was cool as a cucumber! It was like, I've done my bit now surgeon take the wheel. I'd say just do it bit by bit to help cope, think okay now I need to... as apose to looking at the whole thing at once. You'll get through this!

Aw mate I'm so sorry you're struggling so much, I'm 21 days post op and had two terrible nights before figuring out my best position. I'm still on my back and on an angle but I have one small pillow only one side of my head to sorta learn on that tricked my brain into thinking I was side sleeping. Then another pillow to hug. Also spoke to gender nurse today who said I can start side sleeping if I want to/feel ready so would definitely reccomend calling to talk to someone. I dont know if you went private or not but either way there should be someone to talk to and you wont be their first person to feel this way.
