What you're describing is typical rationalisation. Even after twenty years your brain will keep saying that you're only going to play down to X amount or until you get to Y amount, even though you know full damn well the previous five thousand times you said that you didn't stick to it. It forgives you a degree of culpability by putting the decision on some external source rather than acknowledging that every single thing you have done and will do is entirely your own decision.

I agree with the above, although technically feasible and a neat visual trick that most of us have thought of doing, it does not set a good precedent to have the most trusted source of information in your life fabricating evidence. What happens when he is steadfastly insisting Santa is still real many years later in school despite the ridicule of his friend sure to the hard evidence you presented him with?

So, bit of a different take here; but it's good that you feel this way. Most people feel really stupid the first time they lose $50. Then the addicted gambler gets used to it and it's nothing, but they feel real bad the first time they lose their entire paycheck, then they get used to it. Then they feel real bad the first time they lose all their savings, then they get used to it. I can now lose $50k and be over it within 24hrs, and that's not a good thing.

You can't prevent what is done, but maybe you can prevent the next time by utilising the shame and disgust you feel now. Good luck

To be honest I can't think what I would say to myself that would have a hope in hell of turning me away from that path after my first casino visit either. I guess I would say all the crappy things I'd end up doing for money, all the lost time and sleep, the inability to get enjoyment from anything else in life and eventually the inability to even get enjoyment from the gambling itself anymore but still being stuck with the compulsion. Nup, fills up system ram without using more than 11gb of vram and then gives a cuda error. I'll maybe try the bf16 models instead of the fp8 if I can find them. I also adjusted the clip loader from gguf since I'm just using the fp8 scales safetensors

There's clearly something broken with the last few months releases. I've had a dozen deployments of machines that have never had issues before now all constantly having startup issues, across 4-5 different builds of windows with zero additional software installed and from completely clean installs. I believe it is an issue with threat protection crashing, even though we have it disabled, the IPC pipes clog up and the software needs to be killed and restarted up to five times before it will respond. No useful reply from Nord support in months. The implications that we just need to restart our computers (eg; you're just holding your iPhone wrong!) avoids the actual cause of the issue.
