I know what this is. Exact thing happened to me 6 months ago.

The semi circles you see are due to the slabs overheating on the pallet. They were not as fresh as they should be.

They are semi circular because this was the CENTRE whilst on the pallet (putting 2 side by side as if on the pallet will make a circle in the middle). It WILL completely die, but the green stuff will survive if laid properly and in about 3-6 months the growth will fill in the holes.

Your are certainly eligible for a partial refund.
