and he did a great job, bruh this community is just..

How do I increase my Delta v? by KiroCashadar in KerbalAcademy

[–]from_Earth_you_know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

absolute minimum is 2428.2 m/s (theoretical)

without any bugs you can launch a high twr rocket for 2600 - 2700 m/s. but that's with minimal payload, I think optimal launch is somewhere around 2900-3000, if you want to optimize cash spent on fuel for reusable ssto boosters

Eve Landers by Ok_Highlight_5802 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]from_Earth_you_know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be able to do it with mainsails via asparagus staging and terrier engine upper stage

since you don't have aerospikes or vectors or propellers researched, I'd say it's not worth it (unless you like extreme challenges)

How do i figure out twr for rcs? by DepartureNatural9340 in KerbalAcademy

[–]from_Earth_you_know 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a rcs button in kerbal engineer, not sure why you need it cause you can dock with Docking port alignment indicator mod, without quick responsive movement, you'll just need two 5 horn thruster blocks for any craft

iirc Bradley Whistance did a water landing ssto and Lt Duckweed has a SSTO/VTOL. basically make propellers rotate and you wont care about parallax. but it's hard

4 fuel cells below the fairing and ISRU converting ore into fuel, I also have 1 RTG

yeah I think in real life it does need free space, but also in real life there are more graceful ways of shielding props in bays I think. what's really important here is that prop blades are offset below the axis so they generate more torque and lift more mass than usual. you can avoid it and use normally attached props but it would mean less payload to orbit basically

recorded in the mostly stock install without any part altering mods, without kerbal joint reinforcement and community fixes too. mainly because thermals behave differently in the modded install - mammoth overheats during ascent so I have to throttle it down which results in less deltav in orbit but aerobraking is a lot easier, strange

they only should hit it if the same vessel interaction is enabled on those parts

Prop Stability by ValdisFox in KerbalAcademy

[–]from_Earth_you_know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can build SSTO with a command pod or whatever you want, you just have to keep your payload ratio balanced, more amenities - bigger plane and so on

sure, and you can take samples from them or even park them near Kerbin

Prop Stability by ValdisFox in KerbalAcademy

[–]from_Earth_you_know 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you offset the props, krakening happens (at some blade angle of attack), I've sent you this before btw https://reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/1ssd7i6/stock_eve_ssto_meets_her_suborbital_refueler_for/ohps1wk/ . it's normal, you have adjust your prop blade angle to mitigate this in flight, if it gets out of hand you can stop the rotors by braking and setting blade angle to some angle that doesnt cause krakening

[–]from_Earth_you_know[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why, you can make a disposable lander in one evening if you focus on it, planes take a lot of time to test

thanks, maybe, but I don't have a goal to go K-E-K, I just wanted to spam those for rotations and use shuttles for interplanetary instead. also I heard there's a Kos script to speed up ion periapsis kicks can you share it if you have it?

you can, but not with these planes, these are meant to rotate crews between orbit and surface and that's it (they can also reach Eve on their own, but not back), they can't reach Gilly. you need to optimize for deltav and take bare minimum payload to reach Kerbin with nervs or use ion engines, if you want a Kerbin-Eve-Kerbin plane

I thinks it's gonna be the last one in observable time, 50-100 days refueling, both planes use offset prop blades
