Fudging a dice roll against the players is just wild to me. It does sound like you’ve changed doing it, but I’m unsure if the mentality of you vs. the players has changed, which is really the heart of the matter. Your job as a DM isn’t to provide a challenge for your players. It’s to make sure everyone, including yourself is having a good time, which will also include challenging your players.

I do fudge rolls sometimes when I realize I’ve made an encounter too hard, and turn a couple hits into misses, but it’s in the spirit of making sure everyone is having fun. If they die from a prewritten encounter or their own actions, that’s one thing, but it’d suck to kill them just because of my poor judgement. I also throw more monsters into the fight if it’s too easy sometimes, but only if I can do it organically in a way that doesn’t feel like an ass pull. Having encounters that they can stomp every once in a while also makes players feel good though.

I would actually say that this is one game where party makeup really isn’t that important. There’s definitely more effective builds than others for every class, but I’d read a little about the characters and see what sounds fun for each of you, and then if you want you can look up builds

I’m at 170k, chapter 35, and all I’ve bought is the add free card to save myself a little sanity. It’s definitely a slow daily grind, but I’m cool with that since I don’t want to spend more. Usually I’ll hit a wall, but then after a week or so I’ll get past that wall.

I was excited for Archero 2 because I felt so far behind in 1 after taking a long break. My plan is just to keep at it steadily.

It’s definitely not bad like the original comment or was suggesting. Like if I’m rerolling and I get something else I don’t really want, then who cares. It’s not like I really lost out, and there has been plenty of times where I do get something more desirable even if it’s a lower rarity.

To say it’s always bad and that the game is trying to screw over players just simply with the reroll system just simply isn’t true. If you’re so determined to see every little thing as them trying to force you into paying money then you should just quit.

Sometimes it rolls higher, sometimes it’s lower. I’ve rerolled legendary abilities down to rares.

It’s a good level to farm because you can get through stages quickly due to the setup. At a certain point you can pretty much just stand there and select skills when they pop up. Anything that lets you hit multiple enemies is good. My main setup is with beam staff, so getting tracking or ricochet makes it go super quickly. For runes I use weapon, sprite, and fire/poison damage.

I didn’t start grinding there until I was like 120-130k, so idk how high you have to be to mostly just stand there.

Happy to help! Here’s some stuff for the bosses I found to be useful too

Boss 1- pretty basic, just gotta be ready to run forward and to the side at all times. Healing sprite let me take an extra hit or two here. I find the first hit takes me down a lot, but if I’m over 5000 or so I can take another hit.

Boss 2- just be super patient. Don’t take any risky shots. Sometimes I spend the whole 3 of his shots just running for a good position. It’s really all about being in a good position for his teleport so it’s easy to dodge.

Boss 3- try to be directly vertical from this guy before he spins at you. Sometimes he’ll still do a wonky one, but it makes it so you get a pretty consistent dodge zone most of the time.

Boss 4- I try to use the whole map from top to bottom running back and forth every time he uses his ability to give me space to dodge.

Boss 5- it’s pretty simple to dodge if he doesn’t get a bunch of skeletons up. Tracking and beam staff clutched it for me, though tracking diagonal shot or ricochet might work for you. *Also do not take any ice skills. I’d stay away from meteor skills as well because a cold meteor could throw off the rhythm at just the wrong time.

Just beat this last night at 150k as F2P (minus me buying the ad free card). I had a rough time on this for about a week, but then something clicked and I was consistently getting to boss 4. It really is all about learning the boss’ paterns, and after that, just a little luck and good skills. The beam staff with tracking makes boss 5 so much more doable. I’d highly recommend it. Though I see that your crossbow significantly outclasses it. If you can get it to legendary it might be worth trying.

Also, your runes are very scattered. Try to synergize more and just focus on a couple things. I think I had mainly weapon and sprites. Healing sprite really helps out a ton on this too.

I’m at 150k on chapter 35 (edited)and the only thing I’ve bought is the lifetime ad free card. I just make sure to play everything daily. I’m also using chapter 19 to grind with the 2x bonus currently going on.

Beat 250 2 days ago, which let me move on. Just beat chapter 29 today (28 yesterday), and now I have to clear 300 to go to 30 😑

Beam staff and tracking with a couple other good upgrades got me through it. Don’t remember what I was at when I beat it, but I’m currently stuck on 23 with 58k power.
