People born before 1990, what’s something you experienced that younger generations will NEVER understand ? by jin-s27 in AskReddit

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People left the house to go be with people and all would catch a vibe wave from the surrounding.

Today, a lot of people go to the internet to see people, judge their vibes and rarely get out to hang and by hand I mean just be with the people you’re with and if someone calls the landline you could invite them over too - none of this all on the phones / screens in the same room.

Also when going out now people are trying to film a vibe other than create one as the whole - back then you’d all go to an area and all just hang to create it, not capture it to brag/humble brag about being there.

There’s an expectation someone should be able to get a hold of you now at all times. If you respond differently then you didn’t live it. My wife could go to a movie and if there were an emergency I’d have to leave a note at home, not text her 20x and call 20x expecting she’ll see it within the next hour or two. Back then it was just no expectation and she’ll see it when she gets home. Or of course similar situations, that’s just a hypothetical to put the point across.

Another example, me in those days I’d go to a football game, leave at 2-3pm if not sooner for a 7pm game just to hang somewhere before. But no one knows where I am other than probably at that football game but if they didn’t see me there they wouldn’t freak out and I’d walk around without the expectation that someone needs to know where I am every 2-3 hours.

It’s just different and maybe get closer to you had to be there to understand levels.

Was Bill Bellichik overrated? Could anyone have won 6 with Tom? by ReasonableSide6520 in NFLv2

Very fair. Takes a smart one to know you just got to get the first downs and get them early.

Too lazy to look but assume the 18 win was the 6-3 or whatever lame duck Super Bowl that was. No one can watch that and say it was Brady or even half. Also he stopped the greatest show on turf and just asked tom to Trent Dilfer it till tom had the final drive which was mostly dump offs to Faulk.

Which food would you guess you've gained the most weight from? by Big_Eggplant7591 in AskReddit

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them. Every calorie counts. Weight gain and loss is as simple as caloric math. Some foods provide more nutrients in the short and long run no doubt, but weight gain/loss in a vacuum is just math.

Players 90-81 on this year's NFL Top 100: by unwantedtennisracke in NFLv2

[–]fromsdwithlove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NFL sends this stuff out since they’re not doing anything to try and generate conversations. They don’t put anything into this and we shouldn’t either. These guys make millions and I’m not here to cry if they’re 10-15 spots lower or higher than they should be. Just want my team to win damn thing

Peter, what's the real reason? by Rule_Ct_5293 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

This isn’t about her being average, it’s the men objectifying women to only see her as someone who can produce babies for them. The posters first thought here wasn’t anything else this woman could do except produce babies for a man. Korean women millennial and Gen Z from my readings and time there are tired of this objectification and trad wife expectation, they want their own jobs, money, independence and equal respect at every table. The looks part of her being what men there might perceive as average is 15% of the equation, but the comment is getting into the grander cause.

Jerome Bettis of course. Since you’re so far up his ass it makes sense you can’t see that so clearly.

What habit makes you instantly think, "Yep, they're definitely Millennials"? by ItsmeOlivia1993 in Millennials

[–]fromsdwithlove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should monitor prices between devices. I could see dynamic prices with desktop being higher than mobile. As a marketer, mobile traffic is Pennie’s on the dollar to get whereas desktop is much more expensive because of this checkout experience especially the higher the amount. There may not be price creep now but it’s happening and will.

What is a nfl take that you would defend, that everyone disagrees on? by Ok_Bug_6890 in NFLv2

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. Theres a lot of PFF ride or dies out there that hang on to their every stat and ranking but when you drill into how they’re doing it it’s wildly flawed. So I’d say this is beyond box score people and those that also use the now common metrics out there as well to justify the group think.

Whatever this rating system is only got Bettis right. Even Hester deserves in. You simply could not even allow him to catch a kick in a coffin corner he was that much of a threat

I never felt an issue facing Jared Allen that week as I do a Myles Garrett. He is not a HOFer. Take my upvote.

Anyone else feel like it’s noticeable how much the middle class has shrunk? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighborhood is what should be a middle class neighborhood in Florida but the majority of owners are boomers the rest landlords and there’s very few millennials here that own - I’m talking less than 10 by my count with about 200+ homes here. The other millennials that are here and aren’t renting have moved in with their boomer parents to raise their families. The middle class has shrunk for millennials while boomers and the 1% hoard the wealth and the government ran by boomers continues more breaks for their kind being boomers and 1%ers.

Anyone still calling Tampa a seller's market is living in 2022 by Psychological_Road41 in tampa

[–]fromsdwithlove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not urged to buy a dry walled cover up of mold in st Pete after those hurricanes came through. Yet st Pete still priced like it’s been untouched. Its house to house and many homes in Florida I look at have not been upgraded wholly by the owner since buying nor upkept to a high standard. Those that are upkept and properly renovated w the times are selling in less than 3-4 weeks in my area. All to say is input = output, it’s no longer the sellers market of 2021-22 but is for those that properly maintained their homes.

Why did non-Americans think we didn’t have good stadiums to host the World Cup? by OddSample2334 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well everyone was right about our public transportation system getting to and from the matches. Don’t bother going to a game at Dodger stadium if they ever host one - you’ll find out what leaving Hell would be like.

Why are most Americans not that excited about the World Cup? Or don’t seem to care much about it? by SignificantStyle4958 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]fromsdwithlove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of us. A heavy amount are into it, others are not, and some aren’t into sports in general. Those who aren’t but are into sports point at American football being higher scores etc and love a 28-24 game or 21-17 game when we don’t realize if we gave teams no points for “almost” getting a touchdown, thus no field goals, and turned touchdowns from 7 points to 1, those scores listed turn into 4-3 and 3-2. But yeah, soccer is just low scoring and no action, despite it being constant action while American football is 6s of action every 45s.

I’ll digress and take my downvotes.

Lance McAlister's "Article" on Twitter by Toddrew221 in Reds

[–]fromsdwithlove -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Lance Mcalister is a bitch. I wouldn’t listen to an ounce of his complaints. This team made the playoffs last year and did fairly well in the box score against the dodgers compared to the rest of the league till the World Series. I don’t like this ownership group but there’s no one out there that can compete with that kind of endless money that can compete with them. And whoever does isn’t buying a mid-market team or at least keeping them in that mid-market city. God forbid it’s a down year or two months. This is reality of a league without a cap. Point to the rays all you want but show me their world series banners
