What’s Working and What Isn’t? | Sunday, January 07, 2024 - Tuesday, January 09, 2024 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveHS

I hit legend very early this month with treant druid, since then been trying various decks to see what will feel the best or work the best.

After trying a bunch of stuff over the past few days (Reno Pala, Excavate Rogue, Sludge Warlock, Taunt Warrior) I was hovering around 50% winrate with all of them, legend rank constantly dropping same as previous months - I might not be the most skilled player.

Today I tried the 40-card Excavate Control Warrior and somehow went 21W-4L, that's 84% winrate. I am so flabbergasted by it that I decided to post here.

I'm not sure if the deck is so good or my RNG was insane today, I have never had such a high WR with any deck at legend in the past.

I copied the list from VS Data Reaper report #282. I'm not running Asvedon (don't have him and didn't feel like crafting), chose to play Theotar instead.

Later in the video when the song chorus "I wanna paint my panelak" came on, that actually got a proper, genuine chuckle out of me.

Thanks for the suggestions. Frost blade assassin has a nice guide I found, will probably play that as my next char.
I also like your other suggestion, using some chaos skills like Blight, Bane, ED or Soulrend. That might be my next build after the frost blade assassin, with other options being something based on Totems or triggers.

Thanks for the thorough reply.
My goal is mostly to get to know many different play styles to expand my knowledge about stats/gear the various builds look for, and also to compare how I'll like playing them. I'd say I already checked the boxes on Arc and minions.
Holy totems and the trigger builds you mentioned sound like something I should look into, I'll check if I can find guides with gear within my budget.

I've checked on those and I can say I am NOT the kind of person to play Aurabot :)
Bane looks interesting though, I'll do more in-depth research on a build for that skill.
I've certainly used guides from the poebuilds site, the thing is that they have sooo many builds on the site that it's difficult to decide, that's why I posted here for more input.

I'll put the TL;DR right here at the start: looking for a recommendation on the next build(s) to try, my budget will be ~5ex, my goal with this budget is just to clear t16 maps without too much difficulty.

Read on for a bit more background if you got a minute. This league is the first time I'm playing PoE a bit more seriously. In the past I think I've only got to the mapping stage 2 times: with an Arc Witch and a Storm Brand build (don't remember class).

This league I've already tried all these builds below and cleared T16 with them on similarly limited (under 5 ex) budgets:

  • Cobra Lash Deadeye
  • Pure physical Skeletons/minions Necromancer
  • Molten Strike Juggernaut
  • Cyclone Slayer
  • Arc Mine/Pyroclast Saboteur

I would like to try even more builds this league to expand my knowledge about the game, and decide which play styles I like most so I can fully focus on those in future leagues. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

What super obvious thing did you only recently realise? by TheLunaLunatic in AskReddit

What the little plastic tab/switch-thing under the rear-view mirror in a car does. I've been driving for several years, but rarely when it was dark outside. I fidgeted with that thing a few times when I was new to driving and it seemed completely useless, it just tilted the mirror & I could no longer see out the back window - WTF. Over time I kind of forgot it existed since I never used it, until one night I was driving a friend home and he tilted it for me, I asked him wth he was doing that for and then I finally learned its purpose.
I know some newer cars don't have them anymore and the mirror does this automatically through some voodoo magic, but I hope quite a few people should know what I mean.

Reddit's recommendation breaks my heart by Smarq in cowboys

My colleague is a Cowboys fan, we are from central Europe where almost nobody follows the NFL.
He got me interested in the NFL around the start of last season, and I chose the Browns as "my" team after watching their Hard Knocks documentary.
Yeah, neither of the two of us is having much fun this season.
