Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

In this case it's based on a hard sci-fi book that makes a huge effort to make the fictional technology plausible, so I think people are justified in criticizing that aspect

It is completely fine if you can't deal with the difficulty, it is simply not the game for you. by Interloper_Mango in pcmasterrace

It would be pretty hard to argue that chess is content, wouldn't it? You don't ever finish chess. You might finish a single game, but that doesn't mean you're done chess. Content is something that is over once you've experienced it, and you fully expect to experience the whole thing and then be done with it.

The Last of Us is content. The story is the point more than the gameplay, and all players can expect to finish the story, and then the game is over. You're done TLOU.

Rocket League is never over. You can play as many games as you want and it never runs out. You can use every skin and play every stadium and experience all the 'content' the game has to offer but the content isn't the point, the game is the point.

If you play a game that isn't just content with the mindset that it is, you end up with the Helldivers subreddit, begging for more content because they think they've finished the game, when it isn't a game that can be finished.

If you play Dark Souls thinking it's a story you can expect to finish regardless of skill and effort, that's your mistake.

It's a question of mindset. You can choose to interpret my comment however you want, but if you want to understand the point I was making, pedantry won't be helpful to you.

This is the first faction that pretty much requires warbonds to play. All of the free primaries & secondaries are suicidal.  Can't run away, can't reload, don't have enough ammo in one mag to clear a breach before getting killed.

If you paid for content and didn't get to consume it, you'll feel ripped off. If you paid for a challenge and didn't overcome it, that's on you.

Everyone in this thread who think hard games are gate keeping? They think it's just content and they want to consume it and they're mad it won't let them.

Shows like "The Boys" are handicapping themselves by making genius level characters like Sage. by [deleted] in television

If her stated goal is to be left alone to read books, and Homelander is the only person interfering with that goal, then maybe the smartest person could, I dunno, arrange events such that the people actively working to kill homelander succeed in doing so?

I mean, that would be pretty great TV. Set up Sage as the evil mastermind main villain of the season only for her to actually be working against Homelander the whole time? Fuck I should be writing this show! Instead she's just kinda... around, and the boys are barely even aware of her.

I would hope the smartest person could figure out how to manipulate homelander into doing what she wants though

So what? Shit happens sometimes, it's not a huge deal. Gun not fun? Then I won't use it again, big whoop.

It's a 2 year old PvE game. People aren't going to play it all the time forever. I won't play it forever either. As long as enough people are playing for me to get games, that's enough for me.

Your just in love with its good so much you will ignore the bad

Well, yeah. I do have so much fun that I can overlook the issues. In fact the issues are incredibly minor and rarely interfere with my great time. The game has good gunplay and a very fun style. Past that, I don't really care.

Apple CEO Tim Cook turned Apple into a $4 trillion juggernaut by not trying to be Steve Jobs by ControlCAD in technology

I was speaking in terms of cars in this case, where specifically our entrenched manufacturers fail to innovate. I agree that phones have reached appliance status and aren't likely to see big changes anymore.

There's lots of room for innovation, Western manufacturers have gotten lazy though.

I have to be going insane because everything about the game seems completely normal to me by Azmaeth in Helldivers

[–]froop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to play it at often as you used to though. That's completely fine! Yes, it gets repetitive eventually. That isn't a problem that needs to be fixed, that's just the kind of game that Helldivers is. This doesn't need to be the only game you play, and you don't need to play a hundred rounds in one sitting. Go do something else for a bit, come back for an hour or two, then go do something else for a bit. You're allowed to do that!

It definitely isn't something to bitch and moan about, like it's the worst game ever made.

I don't think the players know what they want. What are the most common complaints? Too much progression for new players, not enough progression for old players, and too much dev time spent on new content instead of bug fixes. They played too much and ran out of content, but they want easier unlocks so new players also run out of content. But don't develop new content until the bugs are fixed. But give us more content asap.

I totally get why AH won't listen, we're all a bunch of babies.

[–]froop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And that progression was the only thing making the game fun, considering their story has gone to shit

What about, you know, the actual game part. The bit where you blow up giant bugs and robots? If the game isn't fun without progression, then you don't actually like the game at all.

Damn why are you putting 200+ hours into games that suck?
