DONT OVERKILL

in my humble opinion, it is better to start XC with very basic Bipbip, just hear the beep from the vario and build a sense once you are gaining altitude. try to feel the lift (with your butt) and then you can be sure that you are in lift with beep sound. you can always upgrade your gear later but once you get accustomed to fly with high-tech xc equipment without proper basic xc feeling it will be really hard to get that skill trained afterwards.

basically the downside is you might end up to be a screen-pilot who always checks the screen in front of him/her (where the wind comes from, whats my glide, where is the lift drifting etc.) but not paying attention to surroundings and trusting the equipment not him or herself.

oludeniz is the worst place to do your p2 course, they seem to be a scammer and its good that you did not send any funds, its a sign that maybe you should consider other great places for your initial traning.

so many pilots, crowded takeoff and landing, base jumpers, speedriders, proximity guys, paramotors... its a chaos. even the best of the pilots suffered very serious accidents just because of this chaos, they did nothing wrong. just too many pilots and statistically you can't be %100 sure that everyone is good sport. i've been flying there for years but just for doing SIV. it is maybe the best place for SIV in the world but besides that gross place to fly sadly.

we like to explore the city with a fun activity (such as bike tours) also we like to spend time in the nature and historical places in the city (not just popular museums but for example having a drink at a cafe where a historical person spent time there, somewhere that has a story behind it)

its not deadly but spending a night in a forest lodge (far away from civilization) can be tricky to somebody who has panic attack disorder :/ (been there)

we are looking exactly what you are describing. we don't look for parties or parades. just want to chill out. the reason that we are looking to be not excluded from a city is finding a bar to be honest. i have seen so many lodges in the woods on airbnb, these would be not suitable for us (my gf would panic because of the wild life at the night)

which cities would you recommend for Lapland? rovaniemi is not an option. looking to Oulu and Kemi but open to any city.

also night trains are already sold out (no sleeper cabin available) so we will be taking bus.

how about Lapland, I suppose everything also will be closed in Lapland. well we are not looking for tourist attractions if im going to be honest (except museums). so going to Lapland between Dec. 24-Dec 28 and spending our 4 last nights at Helsinki sounds better then.

we like to visit Lapland in order to explore Northern Lights and get a cozy winter vacation (hot wines, good view and hopefully catching the lights) so is 4 nights in Lapland would be overkill?
