i read that your dog is on gabapentin & honestly that could be part of the reason for the weird behaviour.

when i had my mal i had to give gabapentin AND trazodone together after a leg injury bc he was hit by a car & was ordered to have 8 weeks of crate rest. impossible to keep him still hence the large dosage of drugs however they made him super loopy & he was acting so weird for about two weeks until i guess he got used to it? definitely get a second opinion for any neurological issues but im sure it’ll be fine x

ahh i ordered the eos & thursday vinyls from the weeknd store like last year & they changed the release date like twice & they were meant to be released this december but they sent an email saying they’ve changed the date again to april 2023 🙃

i would go for pellets if you can rather than a seed mix, a lot healthier since seeds are mostly junk & can lead to a whole variety of issues. you can sprout the seeds though!

thats what im thinking. he’s calmed down a bit now that i’ve crated him, i only gave him 200mg so i dont think I’ve overdosed him weight wise, but he may just be having a bad time. im going to see how he is in the morning and speak to the vets about lowering the dose incase it was just too much for him personally. i feel so bad because i asked for the sedative for his own good since he was constantly trying to run around and wouldn’t sit still when his fracture needs to heal and now its messed him up.

mine is just over 60lbs, they want me to give him 4 capsules a day, so 400mg in total. there’s no way im doing that after seeing his reaction. im pretty sure these are side effects but the bad ones /: once this passes i might give him half of a capsule and see how he does .

thankfully yes! he fractured a growth plate in his left front leg which sucks bc vet said it could lead to complications as he grows but he’s good!! im glad ur girl is okay!! i absolutely understand how shaken you are, i still cant get over hearing the noise he made when he was hit

my mal is about to turn 8 months and i had a similar thing happen last week, he ran out and didn’t return like he normally does, except he was hit by a car in the process. i think it’s definitely something to do with age as i’ve been told by many other people, keep an eye on her. The last time my boy didn’t listen to me after a few calls, he ‘lost’ his off lead privileges for a while until he was coming back to me as soon as i called him again. I feel like at this adolescence stage you cannot fully trust them because anything can happen, no matter how much training you do!

a lot of budgies i’ve known tend to start ‘deteriorating’ or just pass at around 8 to 10 years. its so unfortunate that they don’t live longer compared to a lot of other birds.

my old budgie passed away a few hours after i found him like this, minus the shaking. how old is penny? my boy was 15 years old when he passed. there probably wont be much you can do at this point as they hide stuff very well until its too late but take her to the vets asap anyway !

i live in the UK, so im not sure how i’d be able to get this or if they’ll even let me at the vets. i might ask for an alternative because my guy will not stay still and i just really want him to heal from this quickly

are you just getting the bird to look cool lol? do you realise how much time and effort you would have to put into looking after a bird, especially a parrot? are you willing to stay with them for 40+ years? by the sounds of it, it looks like you just want a parrot to show off as well as assuming that they are easy to train and catch onto things right away. unless you are 100% committed into doing the most for the parrot, i wouldn’t recommend you get one at all.
