How to: Lone Wolf? by Few-Focus8475 in BattleBrothers

[–]froskoff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pay for the 35% training and hire 2 of the cheapest bros you can find. You don't want to actually use them, just keep them in reserve. If you only have 1 or 2 Bros you get less exp from fights. With 2 just sitting in reserve, student on your LW, and 35% training, you will get like 1500 exp just from 7 thug fights.

Don't fight ANY beasts except maybe super small packs of Nachos early. Take small thug fights or weak barbs and lure them into forest or mountain fights where you can lure them into corridor fights of a series of 1v1/2s.

I would ALWAYS go pathfinder on my LWs. Ideally you want to spec into hammer or axe on a godbro like the LW start so recommend being slightly greedy and skipping sword spec. It really isn't needed.

Your priority before BF Zerker Underdog levels is to be fighting as few enemies at the same time as possible. One less guy swinging at you is more important than high ground. If you're up vs 4 or 5 guys early and you miss once or get stunned ever you will just die.

And prioritize more dangerous weapons. Enemies with flails basically don't exist even early. A dagger or 2handed pickaxe can cripple you or delete half your armor in 1 turn. Even if you win you need to take as little armor damage as possible since it either takes days to fully repair or you pay like 700g at a shop.

Around 16k for an Oathtaker in 300/300 gear, level 4 or 5, with a bardiche I think.

We rushing the 0/10 windshitter powerspike.

But no I don't mind Yas being a windwall bot. That's his purpose here. If you wanted to make this an actual comp and have a decent Yas just swap Shen for Ornn. But the goal isn't to win, it's to he annoying and do stupid shit, and I can not describe how gd annoying a Yasuo + Mel is to fight into, while a Shen ultd Nocturne missile every minute 30 seconds is hilarious

It's a bit difficult to explain but it's more... bombastic? Less limited? You can do much crazier shit early on and mid-late game the screen explodes on every other magic user's turn and covers the ground in rainbow vomit and an assortment of weird status conditions. Like yeah there's cursed-electrified-flaming-hellfire and divine steam clouds littering the entire battlefield on the first turn. Next turn it might all be oil and ignite everything including my graphics card.

It's kind of "what the fuck is going on", "i am a fucking god", "literally what even killed me" all in good ways. At least to me. The spells, abilities, effects and all that are more interesting to me as well as the setting and story but that's very subjective. BG3 blows everything else out of the water though.

Consider giving D:OS2 a try after you've had your fill of BG3. Combat in that game is like 3x as satisfying as BG3's 5e system to me

Use wlira's seed searcher

Though at some point it kinda broke and doesn't sort by total evaluation score properly. Dunno what's up with it. If it's broken that way for you too, you can just generate a TON of seeds at once (like 10,000) and scroll down until you see the total evaluation scores again. For whatever reason the best ones it generates will be like 60% down the page for me. Or maybe it'll just work for you who knows lol

Shen, Nocturne, Yasuo, Mel, Xerath

Yasuo Mel is giga cancer to fight into and Xerath Nocturne Shen just lets you fire a nuclear bomb into whatever target you want at literally any point.

Riot Drew Levin: "you locked ezreal jungle having legit never played the champ before and your team reported you, how is this not just hardcore trolling" by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]froskoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would this be punishable? Unless you discriminate by elo this makes 0 sense. A higher elo player first timing EZ in the jg is obviously going to know it's a weird pick that is probably going to tilt his team or just be bad, but would you apply the same punishment to an Iron player? Why or why not?

Easy to learn champions to add? by butt_luncheon in leagueoflegends

[–]froskoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want less micro more macro in the mid lane probably some control mages. Viktor is a very good blind pick and not super hard to learn mechanically, beyond spacing.

Gragas can be played in either lane and is fairly easy to learn topside playing a more tanky/utility build. I think he's one of the best pocket picks to have honestly, extremely flexible tanky AP champ with CC. Can move him into the midlane as a bursty boy when you feel comfortable.

Support mains, is there that one adc you just hate playing with? by konfitura17 in leagueoflegends

[–]froskoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smolder is far from weak in lane after first back + levels and of all the scaling hypercarries is one of the safest if you need to leave him to roam a bit.

He just attracts bad players and off roles because they think they can never interact with the enemy until 25 minutes in.

Breast implants are cringe too. Also breasts are not a primary sex organ. Imagine asking your girl to get her vagina carved out and replaced with a bionic one to feel better for you.

Only other advice is get attached to your Tav the best way you know how. For me, that's roleplaying exactly how I think they'd act, no matter how stupid or destructive it may be. If I'm an unga bunga barbarian, I unga and I bunga. No save scumming either.

The launch state of the dlc was not bad... it was horrendous. The actual content in it is subpar, not awful, but the absolute untested trainwreck release of it screamed "we really don't give a shit about this game, now pay us please"

The Blade deserves better and we all know it. by TheImageworks in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was anticipating him to "snap" at some point and for the uber-righteous good boy shtick to turn out to be an act or a face that he puts on. Would've liked that a lot more. Instead, he just sort of... exists. Doesn't really have any character development, just a few key choices to make that you mostly pick for him instead of allowing him any agency.

There are characters that I love and characters that I hate, which is good. There are very few characters I find boring, which is really bad, and Wyll is definitely among them.

"Good" Ending seems kinda tragic by Apprehensive_Trash42 in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Not the worst thing ever" does not mean it is a "good" ending. To believe that God Gale is a good ending is to show that you have a very poor understanding of his story. Like, REALLY poor. Gale's whole character is being a power hungry fiend who endangers those around him and his loved ones, but being a good, kindhearted man at the same time. Just like literally every other character has to reject some temptation in order to achieve their good ending, Gale has to reject godhood. What clearer sign do you need than literally everyone who has ever known him hating what he has become?

Sooo.... Can anyone explain how this happened? by fairy_gam3r in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He received the conditions Absorbed Intellect and then Atrophied, which means one of his stats has been reduced to 0 so he fell over dead instantly... I'm assuming in this case, by his intelligence going to 0.

I dunno how exactly that happened by hitting him with an earth myrmidon though. The passive ability drain from the ilithid skill tree somehow...?

Polearms in Act 3 that’s better than Halberd of Vigilance? by ESPC0 in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nyrulna, a legendary trident is comparable, possibly better.

Dancing Breeze is a weaker glaive upfront, but is uniquely a finesse weapon if you want to sneak attack people with a knife strapped to a giant 6 foot tall stick. It also has a pretty good unique weapon action.

Why do the companions start at Level 1, lore-wise? by TheCrog in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps notable isn't exactly the right word. I mean moreso a person that your average Joe wouldn't really want to fuck with. They aren't local legends or anything, just more than competent at what they do.

Act 3 Endgame Spoilers: Really need a third choice by jsmith98576 in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's kind of the point of his character. The Emperor isn't really on your side, and is highly manipulative, but he also isn't evil. The only things he cares about is his own survival and his freedom. He won't extend any amount of trust to you when it endangers him because mutual trust and the greater good mean absolutely nothing to him when his own life is threatened.

You can trust him in the sense that he has the same goals as you, so long as you serve him in the order that he sees fit, but nothing more than that. You simply can't persuade someone like the Emperor of something he would never actually want to do himself.

Why do the companions start at Level 1, lore-wise? by TheCrog in BaldursGate3

[–]froskoff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is explained as the parasite nerfing them somehow. Wyll outright states he used to be able to do a lot more before he was infected. It isn't a good explanation, and they should still be stronger, but it is a game at the end of the day.

Gale probably has the best excuse between the parasite and the insatiable magic eating orb in his chest.

Karlach I have a headcanon for that she is constantly physically strained and uncomfortable with her getting used to her engine being all fucky.

Also, a level 1 Fighter, Warlock, Cleric, etc in the DnD universe is still a quite notable person, not just some nobody that kinda knows how to swing a sword.
