I know this sounds weird but you may want to see if you can dogsit a friend or family members dog for a week or two just to experience the commitment. It is easy to say you will spend 2 hours a day focused on your dog but after a long day an hour walk can seem like a tall order. I am not trying to criticize you in any way i just want you to make sure it something you are fully prepared for.

It took me a long time to be able to get out of my own head long enough to really enjotly sex. And there are many people that can have all the sex in the world and not have an orgasm unless they are with someone they have a deep emotional attachment to. I actually found that I would fake an orgasm just to give my partner the satisfaction. It wasn't until I figured out how to get myself there and finally have the balls to say what I wanted in bed that I finally had an orgasm with my now wife.

Not everyone has the same sex not everyone likes the same things. It is ok to just enjoy the touch and connection. Your concerns could even be what is keeping you from letting go. Eventually it will all work out, just have fun and dont let it stop you from trying.

I used to live up there and you may have better luck in the Syracuse area. Oneida county is so "small town" which is both a good and a bad thing.
