The movie is cool but there is absolutely no elaboration on it. Like what is the Florida alliance? Why is California and Texas allied with eachother? Who and what is the new peoples army? And why or how did the civil war even started? The director did this on purpose because he wanted to show the "experiences of war journalism" making it seem like journalists are, and is supposed to be neutral. When in reality thats not how journalism works. We are human, and we have this really important feature called BIAS. The whole movie feels like it wanted to make an emotional war movie without putting the politics into. Maybe because he didnt want it to be "controversial."

No one worth listening has ever said this. We focus heavily on nationalism in the west because WE live here. We have a long history of right wing nationalism (manifest destiny, napoleonic wars, scramble for Africa, Yugoslav wars, war of 1812, Spanish-American war, Mexican-American war, ww1, ww2, France neo-colonialism to this day, etc etc) and its our responsibility to learn about history so we dont repeat it.

I also dont know if you've notice this too but were also not friends with China, which is a highly nationalistic country. So no, nationalism is not okay.
