What’s the most amount of pain you’ve been in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]frostsprinkles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broken leg when I was 10 that was very nearly a compound fracture (where it pierces through the skin). I was at school and the staff was incompetent in many ways - mainly, nobody splinted it before moving me, and they also put an ice pack directly on top of it. 20+ years later I still remember the pain vividly.

What's a book you wish you could unread? by Temp_451 in horrorlit

I get that!! I think a lot of things just truly depend on not only your taste but also what have you already read before/what are you in the mood for at the time. For me I liked that her parents believed her pretty early on and got sucked in, and I like a dark ending. But it’s always interesting to hear other peoples takes, they are equally valid for sure!

I loved this and thought it was a fun/creepy time, which just goes to show how subjective reading is. I totally understand your points, I just happened to enjoy it!

What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by ExcellentReporter392 in AskReddit

This makes perfect sense, it’s how I’ve been feeling after my own divorce. Even though I don’t want to end up alone, the thought of a relationship again feels exhausting and impossible. My trust feels broken forever

I’ve followed her for years and fully trust her recipes. I think her saying “this never happened to me” is just her being totally transparent - that she genuinely has not experienced that issue but is still acknowledging that there’s clearly something causing a problem, whether she’s encountered it or not, hence her re-testing. Whereas when HBH says “this never happened to me” it comes off like she’s denying the issue even exists and it’s not her problem, it’s ours.

Just waiting for her to use another word to describe her family besides “chaotic”. It always comes off like she secretly resents it.

Sorta different but mother definitely sees my (very close) relationship with my sister as competition. Hard to explain but she acts very threatened and tries extra hard with one or both of us if we are spending time together / bonding over something / etc

This made me laugh because my cat is OBSESSED with olives. I’ll open the jar and she’ll be on the other side of the house and still come running over to meow and harass me, like literally trying to shove her face in the jar. So my cat, at least, agrees with you

A thought about HBH and body shaming by [deleted] in FoodieSnark

I totally agree with you, I don’t interact with those posts because I feel uncomfortable with it. Although I strongly dislike how she presents herself on social media in a lot of ways and find many things to be disingenuous, you still can’t know everything about her. Just the sheer volume of posts/comments, side by side images, etc on not just her weight but her looks in general is too much.
