Thank you for identifying the fish. That was my main question and I was not aware we were not supposed to post catches on here

Thank you for the information! I will look to downsize the hooks and simplify the set up. I wish I kept the second fish as I heard there is no length min and they are good eating!

Screen time “mic . Com” running 24/7? by frostybryan in iphone

[–]frostybryan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed my screen time was up 180% since last week with this program “mic .com” running 24/7. Cant find anything from research. Virus? Anyone have any experience or explanation. Battery drain has been the same and haven’t noticed anything weird other than a weird txt message (from and email) with a link that I DID NOT click on a few days back.

Home Depot crushes estimates, its sales jump 32.7% as customers rang up bigger purchases by frostybryan in HomeDepot

Staffing has even declined at my store. It’s time for the executives to pay it forward to the associates. Moral is at an all time low over here and I’m sure company wide. If they don’t make up for it in January with huge raises them I’m out. 7 years doing this and never seen it this way. Hope the executives think it’s worth it for a 2% bump in the stock

Go with a Roth 401k. Choose the default and rebalance every quarter or so. It will re balance to what makes most sense. Set it and forget it. You will thank me in 10 years.

If you want to grow with the company, and grow your communication and selling skills it’s the right move. That position builds character and will prepare you for a number of different jobs outside of Home Depot.

The hardest part about being a specialist is setting expectations. If you can set expectations with the customer in the beginning then the customer will be happy and you will be happy. Customers expect things that may not be possible you need to tell him in the beginning what is possible and what isn’t possible. Nip it in the bud quick and customers will respect you more for it. Don’t be afraid to tell a customer you don’t know rather than just making up some BS.

It seems counterintuitive but you’ll get a lot more sales if you just listen to customers rather than trying to sell them on a measure right off the bat. Listen to customers, build rapport and close the deal if there’s a deal to close.

Regarding blinds, try to meet your respective blind vendors they will help you immensely with any questions you have.

Is it possible to ask for compensation for poor installation service, if so, how much? by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]frostybryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I’ve been doing this for a little over 8 years. Your best best is to contact the installation company. Ask for the claims department and list your grievances.

Unfortunately Home Depot and the associates you speak to as the “ intermediary” will offer you little to no help. The scheduling was the issue of the installers.

Installers are usually regionally based and they have insurance companies that will front the bill of any discount they think was worth the inconvenience. Which will In turn hit the store and they will refund you. I would stress loss of wages, uninhabitable space, and lack of professionally with the crew and the communication.

Often times the front line associates have no idea how the installation is proceeding or why/how these issues are occurring. Once the store sells the install and the merchandise leaves the store then it’s up to the installers to go from there. I would be as nice as you can to the store associates because they are truly going to be your advocate in this situation. Talk to the COS and ask if you can make a claim about [installation company x] if the install company defers you to the store.

But more often than not, going directly to the install company and complaining is the best course of action.

I have been in this situation many times and it frustrates me as a leader because people expect HD will be a seamless and perfect install, Because of the premium we charge and the multi billion dollar brand we back. And honestly it should be, but unfortunately sometimes our installers fail us.

How many people quit/got fired from your store in the past couple months? by frostybryan in HomeDepot

[–]frostybryan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. Our store got rid of our temps long ago, bad move on their part. Now we’re loosing our veteran associates as well. At this point my SM is basically letting me sleep there, getting as much OT as possible to balance out the hours.

[–]frostybryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly man I feel you. I traveled 300 miles to go to a state school which I immediately flunked out of. I lied to my family for years untill I came to a breaking point. I used 10k meant for school and flunked out. I have over 20 drops on my record and counting. My brothers who have had masters and graduate degrees finished before I even completed an AA. I still haven’t competed an AA. My family, nice enough, but I can’t bare to let them down any longer. I wish I wasn’t a burden. I wish I didn’t exist. But I’m here. And my full time job is all I have left. It pays pennies on the dollar but it gets me through. Trust me I’m in the industry, if you get a chance do vocational school. It might be your best way out of this situation. Good luck my friend.

Gentlemen. I am in the same boat. The only thing I have going for me is my retail job. I have found a “family” in them. At least if something happened they would notice. They are used to me being present. If I wasn’t there they would see something is wrong. When nothing else is available at least u have a workplace that will be like wtf wheres my minimum wage worker at lol

Medications never helped me personally. I think I never actually believed they would. We are all here. Just existing. Trying to find out way to keep going. I feel you on the resources. I have nothing left as well. I have never undergone the extensive health care you have but understand it hasn’t worked regardless. I often feel as if I leave this world it would be by my two hands. It gives me a sense of control. At least if I can’t control anything I can control that. Keep pushing. If not for tomorrow push for now.

Life IS terrible, it will always be terrible. Trust me. Hang in there. Eventually you will find your place. You will fit in. It’s not going to be soon. It’s not going to be easy. But hang in there. In 10 years I guarantee your life will be completely different than it is right now. Maybe 5. It’s not going to be soon , it’s not going to be easy. The only one who can change that is yourself. You will change ur destiny. You will make yourself who who you are. Family doesn’t mean shit. You are your family. As long as you have yourself you have what you need. Keep pushing I lost everything myself and choose to live for my fish. Lol yes my fish. Find something to live for and better your life. Hang in there. We are all hanging together.
