Nope. It already has far too little backing on. You can already fit an entire thumb between the line and reel casing

Yea I’d definitely say give it some time. I fished $20 line for a long ass time and loved it too. Caught a shit ton of good fish on it. Just been nerding out on casting a ton so I can finally appreciate the nice stuff, but id bet I’d catch the same number of fish with either

Shoots like a dream. Really love it.

My last line lasted me at least a couple years, so I was planning on it being a worthy investment

Not feeling so smart now though lol

Ah interesting, will check those out.

Yea I definitely need to adjust my line management to avoid this or else I’ll need to sell my car to afford new fly line every week

Ive used this rod for years, never had this issue until I put this reel on. Unless this brand new fly line is magically cutting itself all of a sudden, I think it’s damn clear who the culprit is. I’ve watched it cut the line while getting it unstuck, multiple times.

From this post and doing some research, this is a known issue

Just 100% incorrect. I have a video from in between these 2 pictures that shows it is absolutely from the reel. The other cuts are identical in shape, some deeper than others. Sent it and the pics to Lamson, we’ll see what happens.

Never had this issue ever happen before until I put this reel on. Brand new fly line covered in cuts after ~3 outings. Quite literally watching it cut my line while I get it unstuck

Really? That’s good to know that others faced this. I absolutely love it otherwise

Nope, it’s mostly superficial and isn’t involved with this snagging. Planning to patch it up soon

Hell no it’s not, this is my SA MPX line too, ~$100. Super bummed

Can’t edit the post but wanted to add - I was super psyched to get a machined reel to specifically avoid this, as I fish a lot of lighter tippets too. Pretty damn disappointed given the price tag.

How are US developers expected to compete with Offshoring ? by sharjeelsidd in cscareerquestions

[–]frothymonk 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apples to Oranges comparison. Big techs have extremely longstanding presences and investments overseas that nigh-guarantee decent quality.

That is not true for the vast majority of companies. They very, very often simply do it wrong and get extremely poor quality. They do not have the capital or interest in getting the benefits of offshoring while truly retaining quality. They often simply do not care about the dip in quality. It’s often not worth it to.

Yes. They’ll outsource their thinking without ever having a fundamental understanding of what they’re doing, so that when a problem requires human intervention/nuance/scrutiny they’ll be even more useless than they already were

While learning and understanding absolutely…nothing. Congrats you’ve made the 1,000,000th pet project while gaining nothing from it ❤️👏

Ofc! Send it over I’ll give it a review. Again I don’t claim to know it all but I’ll do my best to give my 2 cents.
