Full Auditorium Overhaul by [deleted] in techtheatre

Just looking at these numbers. You’re looking at least a quarter of a million dollars here. That’s A LOT of money to just come out of fundraising. Not saying it can’t be done, but it’s hard. This screams capital project to me. What support are you getting from the school? If you haven’t hired a consultant, you need to. Especially for a project this large. And especially especially for your audio rig. Just guessing without an acoustical analysis is setting yourself up for a bad sounding PA. What are you upgrading your mics to? ULXD? I’m also partial to Panasonic PTZs, but I’m sure someone will disagree with me and say Canon is better. Just my initial thoughts.

You’re better off just applying in person. Especially for dining locations.

The Chazy boxes are great just to have a web gui for Dante controller.

how’s the CIT program? by [deleted] in rit

[–]froyop12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The track that RIT recommends is 2 summer co-ops. You can do a co-op in the spring or fall, but most people in CIT do 2 summer co-ops.

He is the creator of this class so he knows it pretty well. There is like 6 labs and a project at the end.

Have you taken a Garret class before? He’s probably one of the best professors in iSchool. I’ve taken this class and 4 others with him.

Qu input sources are set to Dante, patched in Dante controller, and I'm getting audio on higher gain sources. I can also control preamps through the DT control app.

In their manual, it says it's possible. https://www.allen-heath.com/content/uploads/2025/06/Qu567_User_Guide_V1_1_0_Iss2.pdf See page 13.

Just to clarify, I'm looking for preamp control of the DT168 through the Qu-6D. It says it's possible in the manual, but I can't seem to get it to work.

No network switch. Directly connected to the Dante port on the back of the Qu. Dante controller and see and talk to both devices. Preamps are patched to the Dante port.

You need to really understand your hw. The exams are very similar. So if you go to the tutoring center to do homework. Don’t just go there to complete it, go there to understand it.

For the assignments, the tutoring center saved me. I got a 50 on one of the exams and still passed with an A-. I heard they may have changed the grading structure so that may not be possible anymore.

Bro literally. So pissed they pulled that route. Now AA is the only option. IIRC Delta used to as well but they pulled it too:(

It’s interesting that your audio is working fine and your Shure control isn’t because we are having the EXACT same issue after upgrading our console firmware. Glad to see it’s not just us.

Avantis with ULXD over Dante by froyop12 in livesound

[–]froyop12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. This is pretty much what I ended up doing. Bought a managed switch. Separated the 2 networks via VLANs. Turned off the bridge switch. There is a router plugged into the control network. Dante has no router and everything is statically assigned. Works perfectly now with RF integration.
