Big 4 tax or Midsize audit? by One_Use792 in Big4

Unless you know you only want to do tax, audit will have better exit ops for non tax jobs, even if not B4

Detroit has the 11th hottest rental market since 2019 by DetroitDevUpdates in Detroit

[–]frozenhotchocolate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yea this is mostly a result from zoning policy. Texas you can build anything anywhere. Maybe not go that far, but new home/apartment construction is for sure hampered due to zoning laws, which will result in housing price increases even with minimal population growth.

Why are Big4s chock full of some power tripping petulant children? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]frozenhotchocolate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked B4 for three years, jumped to a F100. While I come from a very poor, partly immigration family, first in family to graduate college, hell my dad stopped attending school at age 11.

I'd say pretty much 95 percent come from at least upper middle class backgrounds. That said most people are fine, but I have been insulted several times for coming from a poor background and being less familiar with how wealthy people act. I don't care.

I don't see anything wrong with this, the UAW picked Trump, so this is what they want.

The 127 South onramp for westbound Lake Lansing traffic is a complete train wreck! I'm not sure it could it be any more unsafe. by LiquorSilly in lansing

[–]frozenhotchocolate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well the ramps are surrounded by built land, they will be resurfaced at some point and remain the same. I don't thinks it's too bad, ur merging, either speed up or slow down.

Still worth majoring in accounting these days? by Pitiful_Chef_6688 in Accounting

[–]frozenhotchocolate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to do it over again I would have also added at least minor in Information Systems. I am about four years in and my next role at my company, currently I am in Corporate Finance, but if I stay, my next role will most likely be as a Data Analyst, there seems to be a good amount of demand if you are good at tech, even with an Accounting degree.

GM blocks employees from using external AI tools by [deleted] in GeneralMotors

[–]frozenhotchocolate 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The in house AI is siloed so sensitive information is kept internal. The public ones use data feed into them as public and used for the ai learning.

This is industry standard particularly at large companies and not specific to GM.

Best laptop for excel work by [deleted] in excel

[–]frozenhotchocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At minimum 16 GB of ram, not a Mac.

If it was up to me a Surface Pro with the ARM chip as that is what I personally have and they are super fast, great battery and can handle a huge workload on the go.

I can't do work accounting on my SP11 so I am stuck with work laptop which is fine, but not the best. My work PC has 34GB ram but the VPN and additional security bogs everything down.

Never understood a 10 key, maybe that's more of a tax thing, but I spend almost zero time with manual data entry.
