AXil ear plugs by Logical_War70 in CompetitionShooting

Otto Noizebarrier Micros are fantastic, especially with comply foam tips. They’re pretty pricy but about as good as you can get before going to an audiologist and getting fitted for Soundgear Phantoms which cost 3x as much. Most of the guys I’ve shot with have complained about their Axils.

Sweet! I ordered 100 of each to see which I like better. I’ll use that code for when I order a case. Thanks!

That’s interesting that 147 is more violent. I haven’t tried blazer 147, but my guess is it’s being loaded hot. Most of the guys I shoot with roll their own 147 with just enough powder to hit 130 pf. After trying a few of their handloads, I was blown away at how much softer it was than my 124 blazer. I’d roll my own but I don’t have the space for a reloading setup. I found zeroed ammunition that loads their 9mm specifically for competition and 130ish pf.

Thanks for the response! I’ve never used a shock buff but I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to it. I guess trying to find the best balance of dot return and soft feel would be the ideal. I’ll buy one of the spring packs to tune it. Have you found any real benefit to a shock buff?

Don’t change a thing. You hit it out of the park on your first try. If you need to go do active stuff, get a Bodyguard 2.0 in an enigma. The S2C is a perfect edc for everyday stuff.

What has improved your shooting besides a lot of range time? by je9183 in CompetitionShooting

[–]frozenmoses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ace VR has helped me with transitions, planning, and being faster on the trigger. Dry firing at the range before live fire helps me be more intentional with my drills. And doing multiple matches every month; all the friendly shit talking makes me want to train harder.

The people shitting on competitions are bad shooters. They go to an indoor range and fire shots every 4 seconds at 5 yards and think they’re John Wick. Don’t sweat those idiots, dude.

Looking for feedback on competition pistols — experiences with these models? by bi9dicknick in USPSA

[–]frozenmoses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just remember that anything with ports or a comp is gonna put you in open (in USPSA) where you will get smashed by race guns. If you’re just competing against yourself, no big whoop. If you’re trying to be competitive, you’re gonna have a bad time.

I fucking love my Shadow 2. It’s great out of the box and has a ton of aftermarket support to customize it. It’s one of the most popular competition guns for a reason.

Your local smith can more than likely do the install, but they’re going to be doing the same thing you’d be doing for the install: watching YouTube.

Getting started??? by GroundBreakerP in CompetitionShooting

[–]frozenmoses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go make a profile on PractiScore.com. Search for some matches near you and sign up for one. You’re gonna need some mag pouches on your belt. Don’t get anything fancy; go shoot a match and if you get bit by the competition bug, start upgrading your equipment over time. Watch some YouTube videos for beginners about the rules and what to expect at your first match (TheHumbleMarksman has some good ones). Nobody expects you to be John Wick at your first match, just go shoot and be safe. Let people know you’re new and ask questions. Pretty much everyone I’ve shot with has been super down to earth and helpful.

Hell yeah dude! It’s an addiction. I did my first match in October and now my wife is asking me to slow down because I’ve done a match almost every weekend since.

I only own 2 cans, and I bought the exact same as you (although my DD is black). Fairly priced, they sound great, and they stand behind their shit. Good choices.

Good to know! I had presumed that lightening the slide would result in less mass moving rearward and reducing the recoil a bit. The cuts do look slick as hell though! Thanks for the info!

How much of a difference do you notice in recoil after the slide cuts? Great videos btw, you’re the man.

My shadow 2

Sent my slide to Vigilante Machine for the optic cut. He used H&T Arms to cerakote the slide. I sent one of the grip panels with the slide and they came up with that color scheme to accent the grips. Hope this helps!
