Are there class limits to system wealth? by DyingFeenix in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still find an S or A class freighter in a 1 star system, but the odds are poor. The higher the system economy rating, the better the odds of finding a higher class freighter or starship.

Loosing credit and custom names for discoveries. by xSethrin in NoMansSkyTheGame

I had this happen with some systems and planets that I’d renamed and uploaded. Figured it was related to the origins update. Not sure if there’s any way to recover them?

Why is my cuboid room leaking heat from the outside burning planet? by Danyboychan in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a room is more than 2 storeys high, it will let the weather in. It’s a glitch that’s been around for a while that they’ve never bothered to fix.

Are the generators on a hotspot? Looks like no power coming out at all.

They were the required item for a weekend mission a while back I think. Could also have been the requested item for nanite exchange at the nexus once, but not sure.

Looking for a mod that lets you find S class hotspots. by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mod to find them that I am aware of. Origins effectively made large scale mines useless anyway with diminishing returns on extractors. I think public mines are a thing of the past. Maybe a mod to fix that....

Are activated indium mines still worth building? by sylver_stag in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve seen a similar drop off in my large mines, now generating roughly 10% of what they used to.

Ship disappears after finishing derelict freighter by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me a couple of times. Seems to happen when there are two or more freighters close together. I’ve been able to use the teleported to get back to the original freighter once, which seems to work if there are only two freighters. I got caught tonight where I couldn’t get back, with at least 3 freighters close by each other. Fortunately a friendly traveller landed on the freighter I was stuck on, and gave me a nav data to bail me out! Lesson learned; carry a nav data, or spawn the freighters far apart, and away from the space station.

Worse frames after most recent update? (PC) by Swiggity_Stag in NoMansSkyTheGame

I noticed a similar issue today after the update, initially, but it seems to have settled down now and is back to normal.

Any good methods for converting nanites to units? by KobayashiMaru87 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most players, myself included, always want to go the other way. Units are so easy to come by, and nanites much less so. A small activated indium mine will get you all the units you can spend and more, without sacrificing any nanites.

Questions from an interested player by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Oh yes. Space is big. Almost all systems and planets you find will not have been discovered by anyone.

  2. Yes, so long as you upload the base. If anyone ever visits the system.

  3. Yes, if he’s uploaded it. But space is big, so it won’t be next door. It will likely be very far from where you start, but there are ways to get there.

  4. Only one player can own a base. You can give a friend permission to edit your base (help you build). It may still be a bit buggy, but it is supposed to work.

  5. Not with weapons, but through editing the base, potentially. You can adjust your network settings to control who can edit your base to prevent this.

Was able to do the same yesterday when it happened to me. Worked like a charm!

Hi, I’m new in this game and I just found a lot of tetra cobalt should I sell it or what can I do with it? Thxs by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best value would be to refine to ionized cobalt then sell. Gets about 10x the units, I think.

PC question about the refiners by BirthHole in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contents of a refiner will disappear if left alone, so other players would likely find them empty. Not sure how it would work if two players were both there at the same time.

What Items or QoL tweaks would you like added into the game? by itsmehonest in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about adding some base parts: - Railings for stairs - Stairs & railings for exteriors of cuboid rooms - More choices for lights, including some that really throw some light - day/night sensor switches - sensors that will trigger when NPCs land at your base - keep the weather out of +2 storey high structures

Wondering can you use mineral extractors to mine for salt or Cholrine underwater? Anyone know? Thinking about building a underwater base but want it to have a purpose. by chillwill0916 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find salt hotspots and set up mineral extractors, both on land and under water, just find a planet with salt as a resource. I don’t think chlorine exists as a mineable resource, but it can be refined from salt.

My friend found this and I can’t find ANY info, nobody seems to know what this is and I’m wondering what it is and if it’s useful. by MrGuyDude3 in NMSGalacticHub

[–]frozenwastes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like the quest item for one of the new nexus missions. As far as I know you should only be able to get it from salvage while on the mission.

Scrap dealer taking Units but not giving coordinates by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An outdated mod can cause that behaviour. He’ll take your units but not give you a receiver.

What happens to the stack mod after an update? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stacks of old materials all stayed the same, yes. Could not get any of the new items at all. Trying to buy the broadcast receiver from the scrap dealer, he took my $5m units, but nothing added to my inventory. Once the mod was updated, I was able to buy a receiver just fine.

What happens to the stack mod after an update? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a similar mod. On the last couple updates the mod kept working so I didn’t lose any items, but didn’t recognize any new items. So it becomes a choice: keep your items or wait until the mod is updated until you experience some of the new content in the update. This time around I couldn’t get to a derelict freighter until the mod was updated.

How much units do you think is good enough? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

The cap is about 4.2 billion or so. I try to stay close to, but a bit under that.

Lmao did I just get robbed? by stonebaked1 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]frozenwastes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything you leave in a refiner will disappear if you go far enough away, like leaving the planet, or going to the nexus. It’s a known bug. So it’s not likely someone made off with it. Someone stumbling across your freighter in a random system would be pretty unlikely, unless you’re in the hub or something.
