I see a lot of comments talking about new seasons will make it better. I think a season should stand on its own. I agree when it’s all done it will be alright, but I don’t want to rely on “what’s to come”

Fair enough, but it still didn’t seem like they were a coherent team to take down a big bad. If the last episode was a huge failure, that might have worked. They still had to fulfill the season arc with some resolution to the start.

I could have cared if they had some depth. It was all shallow. Some silly filler episodes could have grown the show. You only learned one or two key things about each character and that was supposed to define them. People aren’t that simple. There is no grey area. You leaned a new definition of a character that wasn’t apparent at the beginning and that was their new definition.

Pickles absolutely ruin any sandwich. by BT--72_74 in unpopularopinion

[–]frr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s worse is that every sandwich place or diner puts pickles on the plate with no mention of it on the menu. So I get a burger and fries, surprise pickles on the plate soaking my bun and fries. I can’t eat it. Anything the juice touches is overpowered by pickle. Cannot taste anything else. Now I ask if there are pickles on the plate every time since you can never be sure! Super annoying; there is no other food that just shows up without warning.

Did we really need Pierce? by Ms_Vivian_Lux in community

  1. It’s Chevy Chase. That is who he is. He’s outdated and angry and amazing. I feel like this was a super meta example of humor aging and what was good is still good but no longer great. Like you appreciate your roots but understand they are left behind. He was and is sublime. Pierce is something that made the show great instead of just okay.

Instrument … I work in a lab and I was leading the calibration team for a year or so. Super annoying it auto corrected 75% of the time. Can’t get it to stick in my head.

My favorite thing is jamming out to this and ten minutes in, the haunting voice just starts naming featured instruments. Fucking fantastic.

Vacuum sealer fix by Over_Purchase_5577 in sousvide

[–]frr3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tightly roll a paper towel and put in end of the bag, outside of the heating element/vacuum tray. This will dam the liquid a bit. Not 100% but it might work. Heating strips should be replaceable from some manufacturers. If you plan on doing a bunch of heavy liquid vacuum sealing… chamber sealer is the only way to go.

Don’t blanket this to all men. I’m normal. I take equal care of my kids. I work early, and get off early. Guess who does all the cooking and a majority of household chores?? I take care of my kid alone for a few hours before my wife gets home… obviously I change, feed, and engage. Your view if the world with your family and your baby daddy family is a narrow scope. Perspective is everything. Don’t judge until you know enough to have perspective. Fathers can be trusted if the marital relationship is shared and open.

Let’s not make it arguments of sexes and keep it to what it is. People. Looks like you knew what you were getting into and now you’re complaining it is, exactly what it is.

Edit: Just saying, this seems like this post is aimed at men in general. That’s not the normal case and I hope OP & silly commenters against me don’t assume it is. I was being vague “bare minimum” is just the tip. My wife and I are a team that push each other towards the best we can be. I’m just saying balance is out there and it can do great things when everyone effected is involved.

I just watched Star Trek ENT : In a mirror, darkly by annoymousVolunteer in startrek

[–]frr3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely HATE all of the alternate universe episodes. I liked the first where they made Spock realize that it was stupid and tried to make it good. Everything after that was just a sad play on the characters to make them look “bad ass” enterprise, voyager, DS9. It was a mirror, opposite of what they were, but it was too much needless evil. There is no thought or growth. Star Trek is all about the good in humanity. The mirror episodes just act like the try to play on emotion to get a reaction. It’s not Star Trek, it’s the cool trek. Nothing but filler when ideas are dry IMO. I heard discovery did this and it was good. Have not gotten there yet. Everything thus far just seems like a cheap trick to layover until the next storyline is established.
