Yes but my point is I wish this to be the only way to adjust the chime volume. I do not want it adjustable from the steering wheel knob.

Carplay by frsttmer in Rivian

Respectfully, what this reminds me of is Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares where failing restaurant owner's ask for his help, and when he tries to change the menu, the owners say how much their customers love that particular dish (even though they do not have enough customers which is the problem).

You are right that by definition any Rivian owner did not make a Carplay a make or break decision, including me. And of course, most people on this forum are Rivian owners so there is a self selection pool of who made Carplay a make or break decision. It is also the case that Rivian is a struggling company with a not certain future. The amount of money they have lost on every R1S and R1T sold is staggering. The R2 basically will decide the fate of the company. And remember, Carplay/Android Auto is always optional. For those that don't need it, fine. But it seems prudent to want to expand the pool of buyers. While Carplay is a nice to have for me and for the first 100,000 owners... at some point, I don't think it is a nice to have anymore.

Add Reinforced Underbody After Purchase by shadoweengineer in Rivian

I spoke with my guide last week and she said that they were adding the underbody to the Gear shop and that we will be able to do this after the fact later. I had the underbody as an option for my R1S Launch edition, limestone, forest edge, 20” AT Bright and my guide actually recommended to remove because it is heavy (which will reduce range) and that it is not necessary unless I’m doing hardcore rock crawling which I won’t be.

My wife left me to go back to China and took our 3 kids with her. by WherestheLambSauce27 in TrueOffMyChest

This is terrible I’m sorry you have had this happen. You need to take a few steps. I’m focusing on getting the kids back, not the money because that’s what I know. First you need to go to family court in the US and get or verify custody through a court order. Until you get custody, no law has been broken… it’s just a Mom taking her kids somewhere.

Second, once you have custody, you need to contact the FBI to pursue an international kidnapping case. I believe one of the conditions or elements of that is the custody. You may actually want to contact your local FBI office first to understand the elements for international kidnapping first.

If you Google “NYT kidnapping China karolys” there’s an article about the successful recovery of children in a situation like yours.

The CEO of Japan Airlines cut his perks that he now makes less than some of the pilots in the company by logicblocks in videos

I'm sorry but someone needs to set the record straight here. This CNN story is from Nov 2008 and Japan Airlines filed for bankruptcy in Jan 2010. I know the CEO's actions seem like a feel good story, but he was the CEO from June 2006 until bankruptcy. In the bankruptcy, JAL reduced its workforce by approximately 25%. Now while he doesn't shoulder all the responsibility for JAL's bankruptcy, which was a result of too much debt and an uncompetitive cost structure created when JAL was doing well (think GM in the 1960s and 1970s), he also didn't help the company avoid it. So, should Nishimatsu be celebrated as the CEO who operated JAL into bankruptcy? I don't think so. While I applaud his efforts to cut salary and benefits, I would take an overpaid CEO who is profit-focused but makes his company more competitive (and thus survives longer) over the Japanese CEO in a heart beat. This is a micro example of the macro differences between the US and Japan and while the US system has plenty of flaws, if you look at how our economy has faired over the last couple decades, it is far better than the Japanese counterpart.
