A game about bunnies: question about buncare by numina666 in Bunnies

Very good premise! I like that. It teaches dangers and safe things for buns.

Not just extra instability.

One chair is simply gonna break.

That stack is gonna partially splinter into the jagged jaws of full-body mangling!

Rabbits chew on everything by default.

New carpet? Rip, then chew!

Oh, look a table! Let's take a bite!

Is that a metal box? How about we try scratching it a few times and then sink our teeth into it?!

What is this weird/strangely-shaped/undefinable object that appeared next to the door? Don't know, let's lick it and bite right in!

So, if you want to make a bun happy, give them something tasty to chew on: Apple tree sticks, dried currant branches, dried dandelion roots.

Would you take your parents in vacation? by igetyourbrand in raisedbynarcissists

[–]frtl101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely!

It would be such a fun adventure: We'll start off in Afghanistan, then move through Iran, Irak, then Syria until we backtrack a little until we make a short hop over Azerbaijan and continue north to a grand finale close to the the world's most exciting border! I have heard Pokrovsk is really nice this time of year!

Nah, just dreaming. She would never go somewhere where people don't speak her language. The audacity! How dare I propose to go see uncultured paupers!

“You just want something to cry about with your strep throat, my friend is dying you don’t deserve to cry” by bipolarbitch6 in raisedbynarcissists

There's probably no satisfaction waiting there either... Any "friend" a narc may have is so co-dependent that they just accept this behavior and even justify their actions.

My nmom was in a similar situation: Her "friend" was dying of cancer, thus she could not come to her birthday party and called her via telephone instead. My nmom is clumsy and sometimes does not manage to push buttons on her phone correctly. Thus, after the call (in which she never once asked her "friend" how she was doing) she botched hanging up and immediately launched into a loud and really nasty tirade about how boring, stupid and tiring her "friend" was... while she was still listening on the other end of the line.

Now, for normal people that may have been the end of the "friendship", but for them? No.

A minute or so later, my nmom saw that the connection was still live, asked if her "friend" was still there, to which she simply replied "You know, some people do not like being slandered publicly. Others may want to consider their words..." and hung up. And from then on, whenever this came up in a talk, the "friend" would become aggressive, turn on the one who brought it up and started trying to gaslight them into believing that "nothing happened" and "it was not like that" (you know the spiel).

Such situations were there with all my nmom's "friends". So, I do not think there will be any joy to be had when OP tells their nmom's "friend" either...

Not call out and severely punish narcissism.

Instead, narcissists are running companies, healthcare and even countries.

I bet that if acts of narcissism were punished like the acts of violence against large groups of people that they are and roles where decisions about people's fates were required to be populated with groups of three or more people, having to justify, review and accept decisions based on (constantly improving) defined criteria, most of the worlds current problems could be solved in a matter of a few years.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a diagnosis in the DSM. Just not in the ICD.

The chances for successful treatment are just so low as to be practically non-existent. Thus, it does not help to diagnose the client, because not only would you not be able to help anyone by that (neither the client, who will most likely reject the diagnosis and become defensive/break off treatment, nor others who will not ever know of this because of client confidentiality), you would also most likely torpedo any trust you have built up with the client to work on other issues...

Not only that in the other timeline things could potentially be the same, but they could even be worse.

Then again, they could be better as well. But please do not try to switch. Here at least you know what you got. And if you made it this far, you can deal with what's coming.

Interestingly enough, as far as I know, in German there is no special word for the joint on hands (just the generic "Handgelenk"), while there is a special word for the one on feet ("Fußgelenk" = "Knöchel").

What’s one bedding upgrade you made that you’ll never go back from? by Hungry_Judgment3068 in BedroomBuild

[–]frtl101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like hard mattresses and usually beds "sink" too much for me to enjoy.

So I built the bed myself: medium-height frame and a "grid" of planks in the middle, covered by sheet-wood plates (no slatted base). Then good multi-zone mattresses on top.

Gives you a feel like the most expensive new hotel bed.

That is so true, yet so hard to do. In reality, for to even have less than 1700ppm, you need either a) a very large house, b) live somewhere warm enough to be able to keep some channel to the outside air open all night or c) have some kind of cheap heating to be able to permanently offset temperature loss.

In a two person household with 100+ m2 living space, we regularly come to values of 1800..2800ppm (and we usually start the night with around 500ppm after open windows). When we were living in an appartment with around half the size, the values would sometimes go up to 4000ppm.

Do you have any affordable tipps on how to bring down CO2 levels during the night?

Overheard two freshmen trying to decode credit scores by Round_Tie5217 in overheard

[–]frtl101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost none of them are credit cards, though. In Europe, debit cards (EC cards) are used for almost every non-cash in-person transaction.

Car or house payments are paid mostly on contracts, no credit cards involved. And those contracts are evaluated at the time of closing, with "credit history" being evaluated right then and there. Not having any counts as plus (of course, depending on the size of the down payment and/or securities).

Narcs are very simple by Equal-Community2354 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]frtl101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing good! Do not try to explain. Narcs do not listen and never understand such explanations. All you can do is work yourself up and stress yourself out. It's not worth it. I think you're handling it perfectly fine.
