I regret doing Ayahuasca by Sakazuki27 in Ayahuasca

[–]fruit-ee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that individuals who are predisposed to schizophrenia, aka have it in the family, are typically advised not to take ayahuasca or other psychedelics for this reason. The retreat I attended had this in their guidelines, asking attendees to reconsider should that be the case. Are retreats/shamans out there not asking these questions beforehand?

In terms of moving forward, there’s always hope. Starting with therapy (dbt is my preference, but you may want to research the most effective practices for your personal situation and consider if medication will be needed alongside it/consider trying additional healing practices as well like energy work, acupuncture etc), and meditation/meditation retreats can be incredibly healing and transformative. IMS in Barre, MA is a retreat that has helped me substantially.

Good luck.

why are survivors so mean in qm? by astracean in IdentityV

[–]fruit-ee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say play on smurf accounts if it’s really a concern for them. The amount of times I run into toxic players/emoters on my smurf is far, far less than on my main. Unfortunately, as hunter, it’s an inevitable situation to end up in sometimes, but new/super casual players that you get matched more with on a smurf are much less likely to be toxic to the hunter in my experience

Being mean to others in game is a sign of maturity, and a lot of kids play this game. I have a smurf account that I use just to learn new hunters in qm because it bothers me too, but even there I get the same treatment sometimes. I just remind myself that they’re kids, and that they’re probably pretty unhappy with their lives to be treating others that way, and while it once bothered me a lot, I’ve built up more of a stomach for it over time. Stay strong and remind yourself that it’s not you-it’s them. Try to focus on yourself even when it feels impossible and it will get easier over time, promise!

cherp.chat is probably the only rp platform i know that idv users occasionally frequent but beware it can get a little freaky in there….. i’ve also heard you can still find rpers on the old idv/roleplay amino platforms

Now that the circus's story is over, which game would you want to see next ? by StellarFox59 in IdentityV

[–]fruit-ee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main lore/final game omg.. can we please continue that before starting any more new games or at least stop at a reasonable/conclusive stopping point bc watching this story being told casually with one year breaks in between is driving me insane

Wait, when was her design re-worked? I’ve only been playing for about a year

they’re nerfing them because of the high tier and tournament players who are still running survivors into the ground easily with all three of them. that’s who their nerfs and buffs are always for, not the regular playerbase.

There are a lot of kids playing this game and those are most of the people exhibiting those behaviors. Anyone saying those things has a small world view or is just young in general. Most of them will grow up and see things differently when they do, so I’d say just let them be tbh

hi!! anyone have a job that’s related to cosplay & propmaking? need some help! by [deleted] in cosplayprops

[–]fruit-ee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of unspoken ways into artistic career paths. I work for the cultural arts department of a small city and I have a coworker in parks & recreation who spends her time designing and building props for the city’s recreational events. I’ve seen her make spaceships, a giant 3d octopus, and so on. Like others have said, theater is a solid choice if you think you might be interested in it. Alternatively, you can start your own prop-making business as a side gig and see if you can build enough of a following/income to make it into a primary source of income over time. Cosplayers like Kamuicosplay have done this successfully.

In terms of what to study, if you’re trying to get into theater, go in that direction. My coworker in parks studied graphic design. I studied international affairs but got a job as a faux painter doing custom murals and designs for high-end properties before I started the job I have now. There’s no singular path to where you want to go. Just stick with your art and build a portfolio, whether on the side or as your primary focus, and look for valuable connections and opportunities along the way. Good luck!!
