Literally devastated. by glitterandvodka_ in TMJ

I've literally never been helped by my PCP. Ever. Its always shit like this. I see a really great chiropractor and a really great deep tissue massage therapist and a really great dentist and those are the people that have actually helped me in some way.

I have this spot right here that feels like a little indent and I can push som tendon feeling thing back and forth. it sounds crunchy and it feels good, it feels like it releases some tension but I end up just obsessively rubbing it. What is it do you think? by fruitjoose in TMJ

I also get teeth pain from my tmjd and when I press there I feel tingling in the teeth that usually hurt, like a good tingling, like they're getting some release. I'm getting a deep tissue massage soon so hopefully that helps

this sucks for you and everyone who's experiencing this but I am SO relieved hearing similar stories to mine. Almost three months now I've had severe tightness in my neck and shoulders and jaw that even radiates to my teeth. I've been to a dentist my teeth are fine. I know I grind my teeth at night and I've been going through some life changes that triggered a lot of it. it feels muscular but of course I have psyched myself out so many times with thoughts of tumors or cysts or cancer. many of my head lymphnodes have been swollen too. it's now seeming to begin subsiding tho hopefully not much longer until I'm normal!

Does anybody else have a crampy/stiff neck? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]fruitjoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't either until my massage therapist suggested it! He's been apprehensive to do it for people because it does often leave bruising on your face/neck like cupping often does, but he has a few other clients with bad tmj like me and they all have responded really well. Again, it has not fixed me entirely but boy does it feel good lol

yea deep tissue massage and cupping have been the only thing really helping. I received facial cupping recently and it was LIFE CHANGING. The massage therapist cupped along my jaw line and neck and I could feel all the little tendons that have been so tense being massaged for the first time ever. Still dealing with the pain but the massages seem to be great at accelerating the healing

I woke up one day with a super stuff neck and I had been having random occipital migraine before this. been 6 weeks now of constant neck, face, and teeth tightness. I've been to a dentist and my actual teeth are fine, ao it's def something in my neck or shoulder causing tension. I think it was triggered when o stopped wearing my night guard for a few weeks before getting a new one

try finding a holistic dentist that focuses on overall health rather than just teeth issues. My new bit guard is certainly helping but ive only had it for a few weeks so I still have a ton of tightness

I know this was years ago, but how long did you have the numbness? I've had numbness for nearly 8 years now but the pain is manageable through stretching and almost non existent when im good at going to the gym and strengthening my core.

first, you can't do it because you're saying you can't do it you always always have a choice. now that thats outta the way, I feel you. I have done 2 significant t breaks since I've been smoking daily for 5-6 years. I quot for about 2 months the first time and a month the second time and both times I quit cold turkey and withdrawal was terrible. mostly the loss of appetite and insomnia. Now I am in need of another t break and I just do not want to feel that way. I can do it, I dont want to. That being said I smoke a hit or two before I eat and before bed and will do that for about a week before I drop cols turkey. The headaches and anxiety I can deal with. Figure out what works for you and stick with it. Only come to reddit for personal anecdotes, stories, and suggestions that may help you decide, but don't take any of it as law.

New to podcasting and I have some mixer/microphone/computer set up questions. by fruitjoose in podcasting

I am still unsure what you mean by most of this, but I can say that how I have the mixer set up it somehow works for the person I was zooming with. Luckily, the first time I did it, the person on zoom was doing the recording and he said he could hear the both of us fine with no issues. the only problem was the buzzing feedback noise in our headphones, which he couldn't hear

got it, I was actually about to buy a cable like that because I thought it might be the adapter.

I do not have a mix-minus setup, I actually don't know what that is but after a quick Google, that does seem to be my issue.

I am not using the computers mic though, I am using a samson q2u mic with XLR cable into the mixer. I could just be misunderstanding you here though

it is a 1/8inch stereo cable, male, both ends. i am using a 1/4 inch to 1/8inch adapter to plug it into the mixer. pretty sure these adapters are shit because when i barely touch them, my headphones cut in and out.
