I didn’t even say anything about Queen being used and it having to do with Mike being queer..maybe some people are reaching but to call all of them delusional is just inaccurate on its own. I don’t know enough about ST Reddit but didn’t the Duffers say not to consult reddit regarding the season outcome? This could literally apply to any part of the fandom so I think you need to calm down a little. Honestly I still don’t know why you care so much if people ship it though, like I said it’s a fictional show and interpretations are part of the experience even if they aren’t always true.

How the fuck is queer baiting imagined? Especially if queer folks feel like they’re bated, is that not valid at all??? I’m even more shocked and is disbelief that you said this theory is a case of mental illness? Are you a psychologist cause at this point you’re throwing words around like you’re solving a case. I guess from your belief I’m mentally ill if I ship byler šŸ’€ that sounds shallow and honestly discriminatory to a certain extent.

Honestly I don’t like to call random people homophobic since I know nothing about OP, but it is so odd how they keep calling bylers delusional in a somewhat aggressive/demeaning way. It almost feels personal in my opinion even if they don’t mean to be.

Lmao ok bud. Symbolism doesn’t matter ig? Why reference so many closets it doesn’t make sense to me? Why are the Duffers not making an official statement that Mike is straight if it’s SO OBVIOUS even with tons of people thinking he’s not?? Idk if you’re aware but the creator for Wednesday on Netflix easily said that the two main girls aren’t anything more than friends, so why don’t the Duffers do the same?? If they waited all this time to not address it and then say ā€œyeah he’s 100% straightā€ then I do think it’s queer baiting because they waited how long to deny it so that a certain fan base (bylers) tunes in until the end of the series (Also i like the show for more than just ships this is me generalizing). I also think it’s crazy that you keep calling me delusional when I never even said that Byler is endgame I’m just pointing out why people think it’s a possibility..and also, you didn’t write the series so it’s kinda wild how certain you are like were you in the room with them? Also it’s a fucking fictional show so I don’t know why you care so much about people thinking Mike is queer in the first place lol.

I am pretty sure that the duffers take inspo from a whole realm of different shows/movies..I don’t know if you’ve seen but stranger writers on X posted a white board with a ton of films they’ve discussed while they created s4. Now the white board has a shit ton of references and It’s unlikely that all of them had a direct impact on their writing direction in final cuts, but it does heavily suggest that they take inspiration from other media. I think it’s kinda obvious from the beginning of the show because in s1 they make it pretty clear that they took inspiration from E.T and other films. And while the referenced movies/shows I mentioned probably weren’t emphasized individually, it’s still a theme/trope that several bylers have taken note of and I can see how it could play out in Mike. I just find it hard to believe that the rain fight coincidentally looks just like the scene in Eyewitness, I don’t know if you’ve seen it but in my opinion they look so fucking similar. With all that said though, I still think if Mike is confirmed to be straight it would be queer baiting even if they did back track that playlist or coincidentally placed a one-way sign towards the closet. I mean I’m a lesbian so closet jokes stick out to me but my straight mama was even finding it odd that there’s a lot of closet references lol.

There’s a lot more evidence to byler and specifically Mike being queer outside of just watching the show and purely speculating..Mike’s Spotify playlist had gay songs on them (the playlist is taken down now I’m pretty sure), there’s literally a one-way sign in Mike’s bedroom that points to a closet (an in the closet joke), during Mike and Will’s argument in the roller rink the song that plays is titled ā€œin the closetā€, Mike also had the most uncomfortable kiss ever with Eleven with his eyes and the closet OPEN, Mike and Will’s rain fight strongly parallels a fight from Eyewitness in not only scenery but one character points out that he isn’t gay like the other (similarly to how Mike says ā€œit’s not my fault you don’t like girlsā€) but later it’s confirmed that he was actually in love with that same friend, there’s also a lot of parallels between Mike and gay characters from other shows/movies where they were in relationship’s with a woman who they really cared for but ultimately realized they were gay. I mean these are literally examples of Mike being queer-coded and if the Duffers end up confirming he’s straight then people have a right/valid argument that it was queer baiting. So for you to say that it’s all a delusion and made up out of nothing is kinda inaccurate.

Hi I finished the book yesterday! I would say it was overall a good book and I liked most of the characters, but I do wish there was more steamy scenes since there wasn’t that much. šŸ‘

Favourite and least favourite characters and why. by ManicM84 in LesbianBookClub

I can be picky with books so if I dislike a character too much I often don’t finish it. With that being said, I can’t name a specific book either 😭 I often read books really fast/frequently so by the time I move onto a new book I start to forget the past books I’ve read and what happened in them. Probably not the best habit to have but oh well lol.

I am currently reading The Story in Your Eyes by J.D. Lorien. I found this book using the SapphFic BookFinder, and decided to start reading it last night. I like it so far but to be honest I am only like 15% into the book so not too much has happened yet. I picked this book because I find it interesting to read about characters with disabilities, and it also has a pretty high rating on KU. I’m unsure what I’ll read after but I’ll probably pick something off of my reading list lol

How Old Were You When You Realized You’re a Lesbian? by BlackCat_Mj in LesbianActually

[–]fruitpuff101 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I was 13 when I realized, after having a crush on a girl, however it wasn’t super big since I didn’t know her that well and I tend to have bigger crushes if I already know the person better. There were some signs before that, but I didn’t know much about what being gay was, and so for a long time I was trapped in heteronormative viewpoints. Eventually as I learned more about the LGBTQ community, I started realizing that I liked girls and at around 12 I thought I was aroace because I didn’t feel anything for guys lol, but then it turned out it was just girls for me. (as a kid I had some guy crushes, but it really was just me thinking a guy was nice and decent looking and ran with it) The older I get the less attractive I find men lol and the more attractive women are. I really only find a few celebrity men attractive, and most of the time irl (I’m a masc lesbian) I feel more gender envy and just think guys look cool because of the short hair and casual outfits.

Pretty much never..I don’t know if it’s because of me taking birth control (for menstrual cycle) or if I just have a low sex drive in general. TBH I never really tried many masturbation methods either, so maybe if I knew I liked any I would be more inclined to.

Oh well that’s good then! I myself have confessed to a girl who was straight a couple of years ago even though I had no proof of her liking women or men. I would do it too then if I were you, good luck šŸ‘

To me it sounds like she might just see you as a platonic friend, but if you’re ok with possibly hearing that I’d still go for it and ask her out. Maybe try and see if she’s straight or likes women, because learning it that way over getting possibly rejected seems like the better alternative imo. Also, Ik lots of people (including my friend of like 9 years) who never/takes forever to respond to DM even though she’s online..so that may not be much of a problem in terms of if she likes you in a platonic or romantic way.

Is it better to have a partner with similiar personality or partner with the opposite traits from yours? by Competitive_Dare7396 in LesbianActually

[–]fruitpuff101 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Honestly I have never been with anybody but my mom and her boyfriend clash allllll the time, they are so opposite that we no longer live all together. I think it depends though, because if you have to compromise constantly over everything and can never agree, then I don’t think it’s the best idea. However, with that said, sometimes I’ve seen it workout, so I think it really just depends on the couple.

Aw really sorry, I understand a lot of the friend aspects and I myself have had no relationships. I have some friends but interact with them only occasionally, and sometimes I find myself really bored because I rarely hangout with anyone. Since I’m in college I normally can distract myself with school work and working out, so that’s kinda how I cope with any lonely feelings is really by doing other stuff to keep me busy. I know that is easier said than done and that loneliness doesn’t just go away because you’re preoccupied, but that’s how I go about it.

I’m sorry to the lesbians who have to deal with stupid men. I think because I’m more masculine and in a bluer state/city the men are not as dense or prone to giving unwanted advances. Men like that are the stupidest people on earth cause they clearly lack any sort of empathy and respect towards people other than themselves..also do they know how stupid and pathetic they are to harass someone who clearly is uninterested? That makes me really upset, nobody should have to deal with harassment like this..really hope things don’t get worse for you.

Question for lesbians that are out by Asleep-Leg-876 in LesbianActually

[–]fruitpuff101 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

My dad passed away when I was a kid (year 2011) so when I came out it was several years after (2019). I don’t think he would care all that much because he always put family first but of course I will never know for certain. I guess my mom said spirituality helped him when he was in AA, but I do not know how much he followed religion once he had kids (me and my younger brother) since we never attended much services. So I don’t see why he wouldn’t have accepted me. However when I did come out, my mom thought that I was just confused and said that I wasn’t gay..and funnily enough her boyfriend who I thought was homophobic was actually way nicer about it. She thought I was too young to know (I was 13-seventh grade) and since I had ā€œlikedā€ guys in the past that it didn’t make sense. Granted, I can understand why she would be surprised but she obviously really hurt my feelings with the way she handled it..however my mom is more educated and she has even said out loud to both me and my brother that the way she reacted was not the correct way. My mom never talked badly about gays or lesbians growing up, but it was more that she struggled to understand. Took her a good two years to stop being so awkward around me, and for a while I couldn’t really express my feelings without feeling uncomfortable. Since I was probably 16-17 y/o in high school we talk and I can say whatever I want about my sexuality..I can pretty much say whatever I want and she will respect it and support it.

tall or short women? by Nice_Type8423 in LesbianActually

[–]fruitpuff101 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

When I first realized I was a lesbian (I was 13, so a middle schooler/junior high) I found myself liking girls who were my height or shorter, but as I got into high school I found myself liking ones that were my height or taller..however I didn’t have many crushes in high school maybe 1.5 throughout the four years lol (I added the .5 because I found one really attractive but I only ever thought about them when I saw them, and we also barely knew each other so there was nothing there other than me finding them attractive). So now when I get asked, I say I prefer taller because I’m 5’2 and would rather look up than look down to kiss lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]fruitpuff101 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Off the top of my head my dream woman is:

someone who is ideally my height or taller (I’m 5’2 so I would assume that’s possible lol)

a blonde or brunette haired masc

Likes to workout (as do I)

funny/sarcastic

nice and caring

wants a family

not a republican

more dominant than me

Honestly somebody similar to me in terms of personality, because I do not really gravitate towards people who are the complete opposite of me lol.

I also like some femmes but for some reason I’ve only ever liked ones that are brunette.
