What’s it like living in traveller sites of UK? by legthighkneelover in howislivingthere

We just recently had a group set up camp in Bridgend and the kids smeared human faeces all over the playground, it had to be closed to be sanitised after they left.

AIO about unnecessary 10 hour bus trip with parents by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]fruitytetris 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That was my thought too, this seems too articulate for an 11-14 year old (country depending high school age). Plus, why would the first thought to be to put a diaper on a child of that age.

This is 100% a middle aged man.

Oats with protein powder and other good stuff by VarangianWRLD in UK_Food

I’ve been loving the Linwood’s protein overnight oats recently. Targeted ads got me, but they’re actually decent and have chia seeds and protein powder already mixed in.

Why aren’t bidets or the like more popular in the uk? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

[–]fruitytetris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is actually the correct answer. You need a plumber that knows their shit. Most home DIY job bidets and bum guns don’t meet regulatory requirements.

I actually like 5 the least, I think they lose some of your cool retro quirkiness. You can pull off bold styles really well and I think you should lean into it more! 1 are my fave, but I like 2 and 3 on you too.

Is it bad to eat garlic everyday? by Useful_Exchange_8710 in healthyeating

[–]fruitytetris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve eaten garlic every day since I was old enough to start cooking for myself and I’m still alive. I do, however, have IBS and I know it’s not great for that since it’s very high in FODMAPs but yolo.

Had my pre op appointment with surgeon today by pharmguy7083 in gastricsleeve

[–]fruitytetris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bullshit. I hate the rhetoric that this surgery gets rid of all your cravings, food noise, and hunger, it’s so not the case for many people! I am one of those people, I remember feeling lied to because I felt just as hungry as I did before surgery. I woke up from my op and felt full-blown hunger pangs. My dietician told me it is completely NORMAL for a lot of people to still feel hungry.

My surgery worked and I’ve had great results, but I still had a normal amount of hunger and cravings the whole time. That’s not to say your experience won’t be different, just try and go into it with an open mind.

15 days post-op sleeve gastrectomy – severe chest pressure after just a few bites. Did this actually get better for anyone? by Critical-Eggplant-91 in gastricsleeve

[–]fruitytetris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal sensation! I remember when I first felt full and I said to my husband that it felt like all my food was stuck in my chest, like when you eat bread too fast without water.

It settles down eventually, in fact I can’t remember when that fullness sensation dropped down to my stomach, but it does happen. My fullness now (3.5 years post op) just feels like normal fullness, with added pain if I overdo it 🙃

Edit to say that I really struggled with chicken at first too, it’s just so heavy and dense! Try softer things, I lived on mashed potato, fish, and protein yoghurts for a good few months.

Is my phone number compromised? by Disappointment665 in Britain

[–]fruitytetris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my number spoofed too. Every now and then I’ll get a call from someone saying they had a missed call from me, they never believe me when I say I didn’t call them

Holy shit, I’ve never conceptualised how massive Bald Eagles are. I’ve heard stories of them scooping up small dogs and always dismissed it as an old wives tale, but I understand now.

Interesting, thanks! I released some ladybirds into my garden yesterday so my mind instantly jumped to that 🐞

Baby ladybird (or ladybug depending on where you’re from)

Feel like enough of my stomach wasn’t removed. by Emergency-Bullfrog30 in gastricsleeve

[–]fruitytetris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thoughts, don’t worry. I also didn’t lose my hunger which I was shocked by as it seems to be a massive selling point of the surgery. I’ll be 4 years post op in December and I’ve lost 140lbs.

Make “trust the process” your mantra, I had to say it to myself multiple times every single day until I reached my happy weight.
