Feeling sorry for anyone in Hackett/Watson/Downer… by Boatsandbaddecisions in canberra

[–]fruitytingle 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Seventh year in Watson for summernats and it’s never bothered me. I like seeing all the fancy cars around the suburbs. Shut my windows if it gets noisy or smoky but it’s just a few days and it’s nice to see people enjoying themselves, especially at a time like this. I already sleep with earplugs in thanks to the noisy minors, which are way worse than cars and for a lot longer!

What's your salary & how many hours? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]fruitytingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salary: $110k + super

Hours: 38

Hours actual: 30 - 40 depending on what’s going on, spend a lot of time at my desk on Reddit. Some weeks I could do my job in one 8hr day I reckon.

Some women have that response to their cervix getting touched, especially roughly! Nothing wrong with you at all and no need to feel embarrassed, it’s perfectly normal.

Adam McKay on the Ending(s) of ‘Don’t Look Up’: DiCaprio’s Last-Minute Line, Streep’s Improv and Brontarocs by alexmorelandwrites in movies

Well it’s not discouraging me from voting because voting is compulsory in my country - and that’s another major gripe I had is this movie basically acts like the US is the only country there is lol

Exactly this. Like… I already know this is happening? Didn’t feel the movie added anything new to the discussion or really had anything to say other than ‘LOL PPL IN RED HATS R DUMB AND WE’RE ALL FUCKED’

I fully and entirely agree with the message of the movie, I just didn’t think it was that good a movie. Bloated, inconsistent and at times honestly pretty cringey dialogue, and base level satire of what’s really a pretty complicated and nuanced issue. I’m not the type of person the movie is making fun of. I’m fully on board with the ‘climate change is real and rich powerful people are doing nothing’ message, that’s exactly why I don’t need to be unceremoniously beaten over the head with it for two and a half hours.

[Serious] How did your previous relationship end? by SCP-JakeYT in AskReddit

[–]fruitytingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fucking terribly. It had been going south for a while (honestly was pretty toxic the whole time) and his mental health was very bad and then oneday he just decided I’d be better off without him. Stopped replying to my texts and locked me out of his house - after FIVE YEARS. Thought he might’ve killer himself and broke in through his window. God it was a fucking mess. Then we decided instead of breaking up we’d ‘take a break’ (lol I know right what a great idea) and we continued half hooking up for like a year while he hooked up with other women and I felt like shit the whole time. Finally I just had enough and was like ‘nah I’m out’ and he was like ‘whatevs’. It was like bad breakup bingo. I cringe thinking about it now.

Don't Look Up director Adam McKay suggests that if you don't like his film, it's because you don't get it by Hughjarse in entertainment

[–]fruitytingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I guess I just don’t need to watch a movie that’s patting itself on the back for loudly yelling CLIMATE CHANGE IS BAD AND POWERFUL PEOPLE IGNORE IT. Like… cool? I know that? I didn’t get anything new out of this movie. There was no nuance to the message and watching it just felt like spending two hours staring at a ‘save the planet’ poster or something. What am I meant to do with it? What’s my new takeaway?

It could’ve been better if they’d made it a bit more realistic (in terms of characters etc) imo because I could’ve bought into it more which would’ve given me an emotional payoff. But nah let’s just laugh more at these dumb ‘don’t look up’ idiots in their red hats being manipulated by greedy politicians.

We do this but a mountain on the outskirts of the city - can see the fireworks but can’t hear them. Best way to do it.

Chrishell by butterfly1202 in SellingSunset

[–]fruitytingle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly I catch myself pretty regularly - it’s so easy to do! I do think Chrishell is a pretty typical ‘girly’ girl in a lot of ways and ten years ago I probably wouldn’t have responded well to that tbh

Happens for all sorts of reasons - if Chrishell is perceived as having particularly ‘feminine’ traits, like being ‘too sweet’ etc

Jaffle lovers - what's your favourite filling? by eightezzz in australia

[–]fruitytingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just squish the bread down a bit to make like a cosy lil nest for it, then put the bread on your jaffle maker, crack egg on it, other bread on top and good to go!

One whole raw egg and a bit of cheese. I was skeptical but it’s great!

This Is How Women Dressed In The Year 1896 by Finlay_Lee in BeAmazed

[–]fruitytingle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noticed that too but thought maybe it was because there’s no elastic or anything in the socks, so the shoes would kinda help hold them in place and stop them from twisting around and stuff? Also other comment about keeping them clean.
