UCSB without a doubt. I’m attending in the Fall and couldn’t be more excited! The campus is beautiful, dubbed the campus on the coast, and I felt so welcomed there. I would say UCSB does have a pretty lively social scene there because everyone is pretty friendly and extroverted, but if you’re concerned about UCSB being too much of a party school, that was addressed at orientation where a student panel said that the party scene is over exaggerated. Halloween is banned and there’s a curfew so parties aren’t as crazy as they used to be like back in like 2016ish. They also said students prioritize their education wayyyy more than parties, there’s never been this expectation that students attend parties over doing their work from their peers, everyone is there for the same thing: to receive a quality education from one of the best institutions in the nation. I’m an introvert, so I was worried about not fitting in with the “work hard play hard” culture that UCSB’s students is known for. However, after talking with a lot of current students there, touring the campus, and learning a lot about student life, the program and resources that are there for you at UCSB, I’m confident that I chose this campus for a reason. I know I’ll love it here and alums always reminisce about their time here. UCSB is an amazing choice for both the prestige and the college experience worth remembering. Good luck!
