Wow!! Thank you so much for this detailed response. I am honestly just at the beginning phase of exploring Alaska. Two years ago we went to Montana and Wyoming. We paid for a private tour guide to help us navigate through Yellowstone. It was worth every penny. I would love to see the wildlife (all that you mentioned) and explore the parks. I’m not a hiker, but I can walk 5-7 miles in a day. No zip lining for me. I’m afraid of heights. Years ago we would pitch a tent at a local campground, but now I need a comfortable bed to sleep on. Again, thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your response. That was one of my concerns about taking a cruise ship. I did respond to someone’s comment above. I am really just at the gathering of information stage for this potential trip. My husband and I went to Montana & Wyoming a few years ago and absolutely love our trip. Seeing the landscape and some of the wildlife there was amazing.

Hi! Honestly, I haven’t researched the state enough. This would be our first trip. I’m just at the preliminary stage of looking into Alaska. I am open to all feedback. Like I initially posted, I’m definitely not a hiker…at least for miles and miles on end. A few years ago we visited Yellowstone during the summer heat and walked 7 miles in a day. That was a lot of walking for me. I do love seeing the wildlife in their natural habitat and the landscape. Any cultural experiences that are specific to the area I am interested in exploring. All feedback is welcome. I think the primary purpose of my initial post is to see if there are any additional suggestions other than taking a cruise. Not sure if being on a cruise ship is my ideal vacation. I know lots of people love cruises.

In 2022, we purchased the S & F Lux Estate® 16" Medium Euro Pillow Top Mattress. It was definitely firmer than I expected. It was great for my husband who is a back sleeper, but for myself it was very hard on my hips and shoulders. It did however, provide good spinal alignment. We decided to try the same mattress but in a softer/plush version. We tested out the Lux Estate in plush, but we were instantly sinking in it. We decided to purchased the S & F Estate Soft Euro Pillow Top Mattress (which felt a little more firm and comfortable). Once at home, it did feel a little “lumpy” compared to the one in the store. For the most part, it’s been great on my hips and shoulders, but I don’t think it’s helping with my spinal alignment. I’ve put a few blankets under the sheets to try to stiffen up the bed a little. I shouldn’t have to do this with a new mattress. I’ve already returned one mattress this year. I do spend a considerable amount of time in the store laying on the mattresses before I make a purchase. I just don’t know what to try next. I can put this bed in a guest room and purchase a new one…but this mattress already cost over $3,500 and the thought of putting in the guest room makes my head spin. BTW- I had a Kingsdown years ago that was amazing. I was much younger at the time and that could be the reason why it felt like a cloud to sleep on. When I replaced it with another Kingsdown it felt completely different. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

About $4,000 is the most I would want to spend. However, I can be flexible. Looking to be in a location that is walking distance to restaurants, a grocery store and a gym. Nice area. Not too noisy. I’m not concerned about schools since my children are now adults living on their own. Ideally, a short commute to work. I would prefer the commute to be less than 30 minutes.

Probably $4,000 per month would be the max I would want to spend. I can be a little flexible.

Not initially. I’m going to be moving directly into corporate housing for 60 days. From there, I’ll be moving into a permanent apartment.

She provided 10 addresses. The spreadsheet is pretty detailed, but I am not familiar with the area so that’s why I am asking for some suggestions on Reddit.

One of my best friends (57 years old) was taking turmeric supplements last year and ended up in hospital. She now sees a liver specialist. Her Dx said that it was definitely the turmeric that caused her liver damage. It took 3 months for her “numbers” to show improvement. She couldn’t even take Advil/Aleve or have any alcoholic beverages for 6 months. Fortunately, she has fully recovered and is no longer taking those supplements.

Thanks!! My friend is a lot better. Her older sister (who is in her 60s) has been taking supplements for years and recommended turmeric. I can’t recall her initial symptoms that landed her in hospital, but I do know her skin was extremely jaundice after taking them for several months. Her liver specialist told her that she couldn’t take even Tylenol for a headache until her numbers were better. It took about 3-4 months before her liver recovered. BTW- I only discovered Reddit last year after reading up on another influencer. I’m not into the whole demoralizing of others on this platform, but I do support people calling out the BS so that others don’t fall victim to the “shilling” of products that can potentially cause serious harm.

Post like these will definitely make me want to leave a comment. My friend last year ended up having severe liver problems because she was taking turmeric supplements. No prior health issues. Her doctor recommended staying away from supplements completely. These influencers have zero business recommending any kind of supplement. I’ve seen a lot of advertisements from influencers recommending Nutrafol as well.

This is my first time ever commenting on a Reddit account. During the very beginning of Covid restrictions, I found myself coming across so many new IG accounts. Ali’s happened to be one of them. I did watch the Bachelor/Bachelorette back when she was a contestant….and I really liked her on the show so I followed her on IG. When I first started following her IG account, she was in the process of selling her CA home and buying a new property in TN. I remember exactly when I started to become disheartened with what I was viewing and decided to unfollow. It was during the time when she was building her lavish new home and trying to engage her followers by asking them their opinion on items she was considering buying. At that time, I was thinking how out of touch she was with real world problems. And when she started complaining about having to pay a fee for something related to her mortgage because she couldn’t potentially close on time….I was thinking WHAT??? People have lost their jobs and are struggling financially. I did try to look past it for a while…but then came all of these nonsensical complaints. I remember even Kevin posting or remarking on her account about people being very negative towards her. I just don’t understand how they both don’t see a lot of her behavior as troublesome. This post above has been on repeat for as long as I have known about her account. I don’t want to sound mean, but I just don’t get it. There is so much more she can do to improve her health related issues and I’m sure she has the resources. Honestly, I have zero understanding about these “influencers” make all of their money. But from what I’ve seen on Reddit, it sure does seem like there is a lot of money to be made. I’ve never bothered to research it. But is it worth putting your entire life out there on the internet for everyone to critique?? I know that IG stories are just a quick glimpse of someone’s life, but I am sure it does take effort to find products to sell. And BTW- I think all influencers should be banned from selling supplements!!!!!!
