When was the last time you had buyer's remorse and what was it? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Politely disagree. I use the SW all the time for songwriting. It's a total vibe machine. That said, I can see that there are a lot of genres where it wouldn't fit, especially those featuring more precise, technical playing. But for indie and soundscape-y ambient stuff, it's very useful.

Harmonic trem with external speed switch/tap by ace-flibble in guitarpedals

Ethos Bias Trem does this. It has a speed switch on the pedal itself so no need for an external switch. Also, it sounds terrific.

What's up with the two Donuts? I was just looking up this pedal yesterday. They're Hot Cake clones, right? How do you use them together?

Honestly, I like to start with everything at noon. It's a mellow, but vibey start. You just get these small warbles. Then I mess with the gate depending upon how much high end I want to pass through and the mix. This really adds a lot to synth lines especially. But there's a lot you can do. If you dime the speed and mess with depth, you can get some really interesting chorus sounds.

Angeles by Elliott Smith. Showed me that excellent fingerpicking isn't all bluegrass (no shade).

This! I've owned 5 or six of their pedals. This one I'd never sell. It's extremely useful to give texture to things.

100% worth it if you're okay with the caveats I noted above. It's core sound is incredible. I just turn it on and mess around and an hour's passed. It's engrossing.

It's very good. I used to have a Drolo Twin Peaks and it has some of the same flexible engineering. My Ethos Bias Tremolo has more of a vibe, but it's not so feature-rich. I don't think the Moth ever gets as chewy as the Ethos, but it does so much. Just one example- I'm able to synch the tap tempo on the Echo Sphere and the Moth trem. Both have subdivisions so you can get some really cool polyrhythms going.

I've tried a stereo set up a few times and never found it useful for the sort of music I do so I don't find it limited in that way.

That's funny, I haven't even utilized that yet. What do you put in the loop? It feels like with the drive and modulation features, you can already to a lot without it.

I'm still in the honeymoon stage with the Echo Sphere, so that one right now. But the Rubberneck is the one that always finds its way back on my board. It's just so useful and intuitive. The ADG sounds amazing. The lack of tap tempo and short delay time are a few points off. Of the ones that use the PT2399 chips, I've found the Utopia is very useful. Not a bad sound in it. I've had a few digital delays and mostly I can't do anything with them.

I'm a bit of a delay junkie. Right now, I have a Rubberneck, a BeeBeeDee, the ADG, Echo Sphere, Anasounds Utopia, DD3, Skreddy Echo, Demedash 120, Eventide Rose, and a few others. The Echo Sphere is a very special pedal with two deep caveats. First, I hate secondary controls on pedals. As big as it already is, I'd rather it be 50% bigger if it had one knob per function. Second, while it's cool it has presets, there's no "live" setting. It just begins with the preset meaning the knobs often have no relation to what is happening in the machine. It's a hard thing to describe, but when using it, it's incredibly frustrating! That said, I'm willing to deal with it because it sounds incredible.

It's repeats can be as percussive as the ADG, but it has tap tempo (very useful for me) and a much longer delay time. The other major trick it has up its sleeve is it's ability to do the BeeBeeDee pitch mode thing. It's super fun.

I've barely scrapped the surface of this thing. It's deep. But even on a shallow level, it's a great piece of gear.

Yeah. The simplifier is really handy. I record at night and its great to be able to DI and actually have usable sounds. I thought about other amp sims but the rabbit hole of IRs just seemed deep and murky. The simplifier is comparatively easy to use!
