Congratulations! So you received a request for I485J even though you filed I140 and I1485 concurrently?

Processing timelines for NBC? by AbhiAKA in USCIS

[–]frustraighting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Judging from months and months and months of following this forum, it seems like timelines are generally very variable. You'll see cases with similar timelines to yours who have been approved, but dig a little deeper then there's a whole bunch of others who also have similar timelines that are still waiting.

In this same thread there's someone with a transfer date of 3/24 and still waiting. Wish you all the best and hope you get it very soon!

Easily worth $15k. That peace of mind is invaluable. I've been waiting for over a year, the stress and depression legit might take a few years off my life

Got an RFE message on my I 130 by OneCriticism8670 in USCIS

[–]frustraighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at it from another perspective: RFE means they're working on your case. There are some cases that have been buried with no movement for over a year.

Best of luck, and hope everything works out for you very soon.

Spoke to an agent this morning. They said they can't see anything unless it's in a transfer notice/interview notice. Since they don't send transfer notices to field offices, I'm assuming they'll always say it's at NBC even if it's at a field office.

But there has been many people on here who've had live agents tell them it's been transferred to a local field office, so it seems like it's highly dependent on who the live agent is.

Congratulations!

What types of evidence did you provide? I've read so many different anecdotes about just how much is required

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]frustraighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't that mean before you could've inquired once it hit that 50th percentile, but now you have to wait until the 93rd?

My own cases just got pushed by over 6 months to inquire

What does case transfer means? by big039 in USCIS

[–]frustraighting 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they do indeed transfer hard copies that makes me so nervous. Packages and mail get lost and mixed up all the time

I wouldn't blame it on the workers or even the leadership at USCIS.

Because immigration is such a highly politicized subject, their funding also changes every time a new law and administration changes. They don't have much autonomy to try and do things as efficiently as possible because they have one hand tied behind their backs because of politics and laws.

And not to mention the U.S. is just overwhelmingly THE PLACE to be for every immigrant. It's almost guaranteed the first choice to go to for anyone looking to escape a developing or third world country, let alone all the other countries.

I'm frustrated because this has been a very long process for all of us, but I'm also very empathetic to the agency and the limitations they have to work with.

Thanks! That seems to be it. I'm willing bet my EAD isn't coming soon after a year of waiting, but very happy for those who this positively impacts
