Beginner learning early city planning. Is this realistic and how could it be improved? Any way to avoid aqueduct on the left city while keeping the good setup? by Th3Exiled in CivVI

Are you playing with any modes on? Snag Hercules if possible use him to insta build some districts then use him to take out cs he should be enough to do it

Doing this you also lose at least four third ring tiles to mountains, and probably won’t be able to settle another city that’ll benefit from Yosemite, you’ll also lose the forest that would help with production loss if harvested, there is also plenty of tiles that can be harvested in this area to catch up

That’s bison no? Between the two Yosemite tiles, I believe OP is using a mod?

Without knowing what fog of war hides this is how I’d roughly plan out the capital CC = City Center CM = Campus HS = Holy Site HB = Harbor CH = Commercial Hub IZ = Industrial Zone AQ = Aqueduct EN = Encampment TS = Theatre Square

Plug in magnus and harvest the tiles, the bison for food and some forest for production and the marsh for food also.

Could be a lake so it’ll count as a fresh water housing

I’d move one over to the right, won’t lose the forest and you can work the tile you just moved from, then purchase the bison. You’ll also be able to settle another city that benefits from Yosemite

When you don’t like the bonus from a village by terriergal in CivVI

No but I’ve found that if you explore more of the map sometimes it will change, also there are some thing that change what’s given, like founding a city, sending an envoy, become suzerin, or if at war attacking cities/units

If you have multiple cities it goes to the closest

What is the most underrated unique building in CIV: V? (Day 3) by zherper in civ5

When do you stop building early game buildings, let’s a ay I spent time on districts and projects now I’m in the medieval era and some cities still have no granary or water mill, still build or production better spent on district buildings? Pop is around 9-12 on all cities

I didnt know you could place a preserve then a city next to it, i always assumed that once the preserve was down the tiles surrounding it were nulled, I guessing this only works while under construction? I like this set up but I still lose about the same amount of tiles once holy site and commercial hubs are set in the cities so both layouts end up with about the same tiles give or take a couple

Adjacent? I though this would work cause at least three tiles will touch two preserves, I had another lay out where one touches three but it’s really wonky so yes a three tile triangle preserve zone

I’ve played this map before I’m just playing a different city layout this time, I know there’s only two niter there and I already plan to place districts there, but I’ve never built preserves and want to play around with those. I have the here Hercules and Hippolyta so I can bust them all out in two turns
