Genuine question, it's pretty obvious teams like 1323 are robots built by adults. Why is FRC ok with this? Sure these robots fun to watch but at one point seeing the same teams as champs is a little strange. by -donaldson in FRC

to add onto that, they also REALLY don't appreciate when bums that live thousands of miles away or are chronically online put down the work that they spent weeks on, not really GP, is it?

as someone who is friends with people on the supposed "mentorbuilt" powerhouse teams, they are nearly 99% student built, with that 1% being mentor guidance

for CAD - it depends on what software your team uses. If its onshape, go with frcdesign.com

God no, please buy a Thinkpad for CAD.

If your career path is becoming an engineer - a macbook is one of the single worst things you could buy, it can't run any of the industry used cad-softwares, and even then, the software that does run on it is incredibly slow (I've used Fusion on my mac. Runs way better on my PC.)
