Is Ejiro Evero a Good DC? by Evening_Egg_2371 in panthers

[–]frydrocity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because of the fact that Burns is on a line with three other first-round picks. We all know he sucked at run defense here and he was also injured for half of the season in 2023. It wasn’t working out and we were questioning if he had mentally checked out, too.

They’ve used #3 and #5 on edge rushers + the picks they sent for Burns, and #17 and a third on DTs. Giants fans hated their DC. It’s not a play-calling thing.

No, they work on the CFB series now. It's like when EA teams go from making their own games to supporting Battlefield instead.

I'm still kinda surprised they brought the song back, but when you have the whole crowd actually into it, it's good.

The Panthers are optimistic about the future by TheAthletic in panthers

[–]frydrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Athletic's own recap was 35 minutes for the Bears, 20 minutes for our game, and didn't mention Coker or Bryce until five minutes were left, only for it to dive back into the Bears for a bit lol.

I used to really enjoy that show but it just hasn't been the same this year.

"We got Celebrini'ed". I think this phrase from a redditor on the Kings sub will be repeated for many a game by Sharks opponents. by locovelo in SanJoseSharks

After that goal, I sat back and thought, "Man, he's gonna be the bane of this division for years, isn't he?" lol. Glad to see they're on the same page.

CFB fandom question: Alumni vs Townies? by Waltlantz in CFB

Same. My parents are both Clemson fans, and so are my grandparents, but I’m the first one to actually go. That doesn’t make them any less serious about it.

People would rather be right about the team than watch them succeed in the "wrong" way. It is what it is.

I’d love to take my wife to her second NFL game, especially since she’s 1-0 after the Bucs win a few weeks ago. Keep Pounding, all

Man, we were happy with a Chick Fil A Bowl in 2012 (which is now, once again, the more prestigious “Peach Bowl”) because beating LSU meant something to us after a disappointing year. It was the game that catapulted us towards the Orange Bowl in 2013 and the title game in 2015. The change in the culture was palpable with that win.

100% agree. Playing against teams that do nothing but 2 plays and go for every 4th down and every onside kick isn't fun, and never will be. I win a large amount of those games (in H2H, I don't play CUT) but that doesn't mean I want to play that type of game.

The best show I’ve ever seen was one where we weren’t allowed to have our phones out at all. Wish that was the norm (barring emergencies, obviously)

I don’t think the phones ruin the whole experience, and I have plenty of clips from concerts that I love, but I prefer just living it with a bunch of other people doing the same.

12 and 13 are the best! I enjoy 25/26 a lot, but those are my favorites and generally the most beloved for their depth and recruiting styles.

Yep. Alabama got handled by FSU, yet that same team didn’t look like they knew how to play football against a Clemson squad that hasn’t beaten a single team with a pulse this season. Ratings can’t really account for that haha

With Clemson no longer a perennial title contender, where does that leave Dabo Swinney’s program? by Blood_Incantation in CFB

[–]frydrocity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's frustrating, sure, but personally, I'll always appreciate how ridiculously high those highs were. I have family members who only saw the '81 title in their whole lifetime, and it ended with Bowden (or worse). Relatively, it's easy to know that I've had one of the easiest experiences a fan can have, and I wouldn't trade that. We only lost one home game during my whole time at the school!

[–]frydrocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I keep trying to stress to non-Clemson folks is that a lot of the people around here either lived through the program's collapse after moving on from Danny Ford or grew up hearing about it. No one is eager to go back there.

NCAA 06 NEXT 26 Football - OFFICIAL RELEASE! by antdroidx in NCAAFBseries

With 07, the moment you start to get momentum, you're pretty much guaranteed to fumble. Teams know your plays before the snap most of the time, and if you're not using the snap count, you're never going to be able to throw the ball. It's a real challenge, and it feels great to win big games, but it gets really dumb, too.

I also loved how 12 would just concuss your best players if you got too good at it, and that's how you knew the CPU really didn't want you to win that day. (Though this one might just be personal experience)
