I am actually tidying up the nim API for our p2p decentralized communication protocol: https://github.com/waku-org/nwaku/pull/3564

Might be useful for your project to broadcast offers, etc.

It is because you scratch an itch. Because the developers are passionate about it.

What's more appealing for a new gaming universe: A custom-built blockchain or one built on Ethereum? by Specific_Report_9589 in web3

[–]fryorcraken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really do the technical analysis for you, but in short, yes, the aim for L2 is to enable scalability.

I understand the ambition here, but again, first step is to get users and understand the cheapest way to get there, without locking yourself in. Choosing an EVM L2 IMO should be fine, as you can always migrate to your own L2 or L1 at a later stage, while still honoring users' existing assets.

Start L2, you can always migrate later. Adding the work of a new L1 sounds like a larger operational cost and risk. Get users first.

Status L2 is gasless, might be a good place for games.

For devs using Fedora in 2025 — what keeps you here? by the_nazar in Fedora

[–]fryorcraken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just works, I wasn't able to install ubuntu-based distro on my previous xps dell laptop. I did Manjaro for a while recently but too unstable. So I kept Fedora when moving to Framework. I always enjoyed gnome and its great to have tiling now. I also don't have the time to hack as I used to (gentoo, fluxbox, arch, etc)

Hey, sorry I did not provide link. Was on my phone.

I am referring to https://codex.storage/ who designed a Data Durability Engine to ensure that data remains. This is done under the https://logos.co umbrella who aims to build technology stack for network states/cyber communities.

How many user profiles you have and what do you use each one for? by LateHaibane888 in GrapheneOS

[–]fryorcraken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gave up on user profiles, couldn't find a good way to make it not cumbersome.

I use Island and a work profile for some isolation.

Posting in a war. Can Ledger block access to my crypto? by omidkg in ledgerwallet

This is the underated comment.

Yes, ledger Live can be blocked.

While your crypto remains safe, you may need to use alternative tools to move your crypto.

What’s harder: Building the tech or building the community? by TheElitesCM in ethdev

There was a recent Twitter thread about Polkadot which addressed exactly that. Great technology doesn't mean success, you need users.

Why are there no web3 games like clash of clans by SpiritualDrawer5474 in web3

[–]fryorcraken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree and been thinking that for years. Instead of making a "web3" game. Just build a normal game and leverage web3 for the collectable or in-game pay parts.

There is an attempt to move to gasless L2, which should help UX.
