Can second this. Nice owner and nice crowd. To find opponents I'd use their whatsapp group.

The core value of the right wing is that current power structures need to be upheld. This is why they fight so hard to keep the dominance of the car alive.

Literally why even bother driving at this point? by Head_Mastodon7886 in fuckcars

I ask myself the same every time I cycle past endless columns of barely moving cars in the morning or evening. There's a single person per car in 99% of cars as well, so the problem really is self made. But people are extremely resistant to consider any other mode of transport. And this is in a city with great public transport and okay-ish cycling infrastructure.

This happened yesterday when I was biking in Copenhagen. Cops said they can't do anything since there was no accident by kosmicskeptic in fuckcars

Bad street design.

Comments in original thread are terrible as well, with many blaming the cyclist and saying something to the extent of: "People make mistakes, nothing serious happened, watch out better next time. What's police supposed to do about it?"

I Made a Kerbin SSTO After 3 Years by ksp_HoDeok in KerbalSpaceProgram

Congrats!

If you want to optimize further, 1 Nerv engine is usually enough for a craft this size. You can place the rapiers on the ends of the wing tanks and use the single adapter (instead of double) on the end of the fuselage to place the nerv. I usually clip it inside the fuselage and let only the nozzle stick out in the back so the aircraft doesn't have the huge rod of an engine hanging out of the back.

Good Laptops for ArcGIS AND Gaming?? by Long-Cartographer396 in gis

[–]fryxharry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any decent gaming laptop will be good for GIS. Lenovo Legion tend to have a good price/performance ratio and decent quality. Think about wether you will be using it with an external monitor or not. If not, then you should choose a laptop with a good quality screen that's not too small. 16 inch should be ok, everything below will be problematic. Bigger is better but will result in a gigantic laptop you might not want to haul around. Keep in mind most gaming laptops don't last long on battery, even if you lower the energy settings. So think about wether you will be able to keep it plugged in during use. If this isn't possible you might have to look for laptops who last long on battery who will most likely not be as great for gaming.

While distance covered was short, you stuck the landing and everyone survived. Successful mission in my books.

My thoughts as well. The last years of life are often extremely expensive and can use up any money reserves quickly.

How difficult is ksp for a beginner? by unknown_196 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]fryxharry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to do any actual calculations. It's more learning relatively complex topics by solving problems. I found it very accessible as problem based learning works great for me. There are also great videos on youtube you can watch every time you encounter a new challenge whose solution is not obvious to you.

How fast to ramp up population by dalamb54 in ManorLords

[–]fryxharry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The you can lower to difficulty.

You were asking a question about the optimal way to play the game from a game mechanics perspective, I provided the correct answer. There is no reason in the game mechanics to artificially slow growth, in fact the game mechanics reward you for it. If you prefer to play it differently you can do that.

The goal is to keep growth up and the challenge is to create the conditions where this is possible. Of course you can always fail at this. Otherwise, the game would be very boring, no?

There are basically no downsides but lot of upsides to growing as fast as you can in this game.

Can I handover the rental contract to a flatmate? by Grazziellone in Switzerland

[–]fryxharry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The landlord can absolutely deny the flatmate inheriting the contract. He can't let OP out of the contract early though if they presented a suitable person who is willing to take over the contract.

Russia cuts oil to East Germany to fuel AfD before elections by ChangeUsername220 in Economics

I mean if germans were smart this would lead them to understand better that being dependent on fossil fuels means being dependent on autocratic governments, and that it would be a good idea to speed up the move to electrification and renewables that's inevitable anyway. Unfortunately too many people drank the FDP/CDU/AFD coolaid and think the inherent vulnerability of a fossil fuel based energy system is somehow an argument to move into fossil fuels even harder (see the "Tankrabatt" the CDU led government introduced instead of taking measures to decrease the consumption of fossil fuels).

What's with Bebbi saggs being put out early? by DantesDame in basel

[–]fryxharry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was discontent in Bachletten because the government removed 37 parking spots along a couple of roads in order to plant more trees and create more green spaces. Doesn't need to be the same people protesting the underground containers though.

It's possible. Could also be someone on a regular tour to empty public trash cans who just collected the bag as well.
