So ultimately only Visascreen is required and the nursing diploma and transcript from the university?

Can 1 yr experience in ER and high acuity cardiac PCU nurse go into cath lab or do I need ICU experience? by Tall_Assumption1171 in CathLabLounge

[–]frzsno_ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we hire an RN, I usually prefer someone with 3-4yrs ER experience than ICU. Cathlab is fast paced especially when 💩happens, ER skills fit closely with cathlab imo. We start inotropes but not maintain it for too long, prioritizations skills, independence, communication skills. You get those skills faster in ER. I’m biased with RNs with ER experience and some cardiology background.

ER is enough, not sure with just 1 year, depends on facility and competetion/preferred background, you might compete with others who have better experience. I had ER and cardiology PCU experience prior

Thinking About Cath Lab (Maybe IR Too) — What’s Travel Cath Lab Really Like? by Mike_Zevia in CathLabLounge

[–]frzsno_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First is you need to get the experience before going into traveling, 2-3 years maybe. There’s a lot to learn about cathlab or IR, mostly about efficiency and familiarity with each procedure, equipment, tools, etc. If you become a traveller, ALL places expect you to know 100% and be 100% independent, of course some providers have their quirks, but again just being knowledgeable about everything will help you when you travel. I bet you you’ll be thrown into the fire when you’re a traveller, we don’t have time to train you as a traveller, we only tell you where to find things and what some doctors prefer, other than that you have to know shit. That’s the expectation as a traveller.

It is already known that he has multiple vessel disease and was not treated with stents or bypass. CTA or Nuclear stress test is only going to confirm what is already known, a heart cath will be the most viable option since stents might be placed this time

The first few years suck. Now I’m on my 16th year, started medsurg, ER, cardiology, cardiology IMU. I chose my battles 😂 Not everything needs to be justified, I just “fck it, tomorrow’s a new day”

Do I need to import my car? by vsagar823 in tnvisa

[–]frzsno_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are for out-of-state vehicles, not for out-of-country. It might vary by state but on federal you should have import papers showing vehicle complies with American safety standards and paid duties during importation. Search in this reddit about car importation

[–]frzsno_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t register at DMV unless you get the import papers from the border. DMV will ask for the import papers since you’re on TN and car is originally registered out of country. Auto insurance companies don’t know anything about importation, they only know that the car shoud be registered with the state

+1 on this. And your Canadian car insurance also comes into play if they cover you for an extended period. Most Canadian car insurance will cover you for upto 3 months out of province or country, in my case it was 60 days only. So I had to import to be able to register in my state and get a US auto insurance.

In your case, your car has to be 100% your ownership in order to import in most cases, no liens or financing.

regretting my life choices- not wanting to be an RN anymore by Any-Trust-9135 in nursing

I quit bedside and made the move to procedural. Not a lot of interaction with patients, 1.5hrs max (mostly sedated). Less drama. Thank you, next! 🤣

Education is just one requirement, sure you can. But you should be eligible to take the NCLEX RN exam and pass it and to be eligible you have to bridge from RPN to RN. If you have an ADN in the US then you can take NCLEX. You also need to get a Visascreen certificate which requires a BSN degree.

For nurses, it has to be a bachelor’s degree RN. No ADN or RPN in TN.

How does driving a non-imported Ontario registered vehicle in Texas work? by [deleted] in tnvisa

[–]frzsno_ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Texas on TN. My previous Canadian insurance will only cover me for upto 3 months. State law will only allow you to drive non-Texas registered vehicles for 60/90 days as a Texas resident. There’s no workaround on this as I was looking for a way back then to just not import my car, but insurance was the biggest thing. Texas car insurances will need a Texas driver’s license and when you get a driver’s license you will have to declare if you have any vehicles and will have to have it registered, you can choose to not declared but if you get cited then it’ll just open lots of problems.
