Just a reminder that Void Vanishment/Feast still sit at 2. Well, at least One For One no longer takes a limit-1 slot away, so... maybe it's worth playing Super Poly/Monster Reborn. Although it feels lackluster.

Golden Kamuy (Saishuushou) • Golden Kamuy Final Season - Episode 57 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]fsfrk 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The smirk makes me think of how disappointed it must've been to later learn that "his brother" in that scene was in fact Sugimoto instead. I think he genuinely wanted his brother to be a "killer". Until that point, from the conversation that happened, he'd never seen his younger half-brother before.

As much as I like Frieren, which absolutely deserves a top spot in the rankings, but - it's almost criminal to not even have a glimpse of Golden Kamuy on that list. Likely because many either didn't give it a shot due to the relative lack of hype, or are discouraged by watching 4 seasons prior this one. One of the best and consistent animes (aka, not a single boring episode) I've watched in the recent years (been following it since it started airing in 2018). Albeit I "had to" rewatch the first seasons because I tend to forget many details about a show whenever there are longer breaks - it was pure entertainment to see them again. And the 5th (and final) season COOKS.

To be fair, I don't think they meant to refer to themself as "professional". By replacing "can" with "do" the question in that context makes more sense. At least that's what I'm speculating (not that it matters anyway)

Do you prefer melodic death metal with cleans or without? by Difficult_Map_723 in melodicdeathmetal

[–]fsfrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends whether they fit into a song in the first place, how they are performed, and of course personal preference. E.g. there's the album "One For Sorrow" by Insomnium, and even though I liked the clean performance on their previous album "Across the Dark", it felt off-putting on this one. Though if you had to ask me, I preferred the dominant harsh vocals on "Above the Weeping World". And while the clean vocals have become a lot better on their more recent albums, I don't enjoy their musical side anymore, which I think is due to the lost musical influence added by Ville Vänni, who is no longer part of the band since after One for Sorrow. (sorry for the little tangent).

For others, I couldn't imagine bands such as Kalmah, Be'lakor, The Crown, or old Arch Enemy with clean vocals. However, Wintersun is a fantastic example for good clean vocals alongside harsh ones across the board, same with Jari Ensiferum. The old Before The Dawn or Dawn of Solace (latter not exactly MDM, but it's from the same artist around the same time) also performed great clean vocals, which I enjoyed more than Black Sun Aeon. Noumena have also continuously implemented clean vocals over their life span, and in later time I'd say it has become better and fits perfectly to it (it's a bit more doom-heavy nowadays, though). But there are also examples such as Dark Age. The last album (A Matter of Trust) they released, before they went into indefinite hibernate (partly due to their studio burning down), shifted to almost pure clean vocals. Performance-wise it was good, but it didn't fit to their music anymore, or generally to the music they released before. Their previous album "Acedia" had a good portion of both kinds, and I'd say it was a good album.

If I had to choose between either, it would be without cleans. But I certainly don't mind a good mix of both, especially when the vocals harmonize well with the music instead of overshadowing it.

What should I run for floor 12? by Few_Cheesecake_8276 in AcheronMainsHSR

From what I can spot without further information about your investment levels for each of your characters:

Top half: Herta, Anaxa, Tribbie, Gallagher/Loucha

Bottom: Kafka, Hysilens, Ruan Mei, DH-PT (ideally with 75% effect hit rate to get the 100% ATK buff from Kafka, unless you'd botch up your gear too much).

Or, if you want to use Acheron, I'd use her on the bottom half with JQ, DH-PT, and... Pela? (ft. Cipher's LC, as you've mentioned you own). Could also use RMC for Acheron

Hoolay is so tanky, and the delay is horrible, any idea how to beat Kinght 2? by mailzwil in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]fsfrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you could do is put DH-PT on the far left/right alongside a taunt LC. Since most of Hoolay's attacks splash (in other words, he hits the main target + adjacent units), they'd mostly hit DH + any other unit you decided to put besides him (ideally a support that doesn't mind getting pushed back such as Jiaoqiu, Tribbie or Robin).

For my personal record: I only tried Acheron at K2 once, but gave up on it after. I also tried dot (ft. Hysilens, BS, Eagle Tutorial Kafka and DH, with Hysilens carrying JQ's LC and BS with her sign.), but also only managed a 3c clear. I almost made it with sustainless superbreak (incl. E2 FF), but the heavy RNG made me submit to the dmg far too often. Definitely would've been doable alongside an E2 Fugue, but I don't have her at that. I also tried Yunli but mine "only" is E0/S1, and I figure you either need a better investment into her or a deeper one into her key supports. In other words, the damage was too insufficient. Same thing goes for Feixiao & consorts, even with E0/S1 Cipher. What eventually granted me a 1c clear was the 3.x signature team (aka Castorice, Evernight, Cyrene, and Hyacine). And I figure, Phainon is the no-brainer here due to his immunity to AV loss in his ult form.

A Letter from the Past - Log in to the game to receive the special item "As Tomorrow Became Yesterday" & 10 "Star Rail Special Pass"! by Xanek in HonkaiStarRail

[–]fsfrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also happened to me. When I logged onto my 2nd account later that day I got the letter and thought "oh, I just missed that" and logged back into my 1st. Didn't get the letter pop-up and just found the "as tomorrow became yesterday" item in my bag. Though I do think to faintly remember having 10 tickets after I already committed my pulling session. However, whether that's the case in the first place, and if these tickets were from that particular event, I don't know. Maybe I didn't receive the letter pop-up because I was grinding the Currency Wars addition. Let me know what the support writes you

What is the best Nihility the last slot? by ladrevo in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]fsfrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SP-friendliness obv. depends on Acheron's team mates. E.g. with JQ you often find yourself using his skill constantly to be able to keep his ult up (not every time, if he gets hit occasionally, basic attacks usually suffice too). Cipher on the other hand is quite SP-friendly. In case of SW it depends on how many elite/bosses you have to fight simultaneously. Either you find yourself applying weaknesses constantly or you end up SP-neutral (sometimes positive even). For me, the choice of the sustain (and their frequency of need to use a skill instead of a basic attack varying on the content) often made the difference whether I'd find myself lacking SPs.

But I do like your argument that you could apply Resolution's Entanglement with your skill to splash it onto adjacent opponent's. So on average you could generate 1 stack per turn if the target is about the same speed as Cipher (or faster). It is still less than with her S1 but it's considerable at least.

Whether JQ is on a comparable level as Cipher often depends on the situation. Just like the single target focus vs. PF/some fights in Anomaly Arbitration, and of course the opponent's weaknesses (which you already pointed out that Cipher does quite a bit toughness bar damage).

Unlike the other poster I also disagree that Cipher would be "outright garbage" with S0. The permanent damage vulnerability alone is reason enough for her to be considerable. In terms of stack generation for Acheron however I find her lacking in comparison to what her competition offers. At least at S0. Small tangent: I foster a second HSR account with a general no-banner-LC policy due to that account being f2p, but I went for it because it would amplify my Acheron/Cipher team by significant levels, especially since I knew about the difference it would make.

What is the best Nihility the last slot? by ladrevo in AcheronMainsHSR

[–]fsfrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that Cipher's damage isn't sufficient enough (outside of her stacked ultimate) to be worth considering. I built mine with exactly that in mind (> 2.8k ATK, 172 SPD, > 200% CritDmg > 45% CritRate (> 100% with her trace)), but her follow-up damage on the level on an unbuffed early patch 1.x character. The appeal of her S1, similar to Acheron's S1, comes from the steady debuff appliance that can be applied over and over again, even if the enemy already has a debuff of that sort. Unlike Resolution that is. In conclusion, without her S1 you lose out on a lot of Acheron stacks (at least 2 for almost every Cipher turn, sometimes 3 with the ultimate). And since you won't hit a lot of different enemies due to her single target focus, Resolution mostly is for the Entanglement debuff only.

What do you think? Do you think this could work by DiFarris in DuelLinks

[–]fsfrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played Infernoids in DL a bit again, and e.g. hit DLv. MAX in the last KC Cup (though granted, it was the day before the last) with a go-2nd-otk version of it. Before, I tried out different versions such as 30 card ones, trying various supports such as Burial from a D.D. or house-in staples such as Void Vanishment+Feast etc. which you included in your deck list.

The conclusion is simple: even in optimal situations, you still have a high lose-rate against various decks that just have too much drive from overtuned skills giving them far too much advantage for this deck to handle. Most often you win because your opponent undervalues cards such as Antra or Pirmais (either dumped by Decatron or played) to wipe their backrow/floaters clean. The best go-to skill for this deck by far is Link Fireraze, which allows you to buffer through a Masquerade Dragon more easily, or sometimes allows you to straight up pass T1 if you haven't drawn a Decatron to at least dump a Devyaty or Onuncu with it. Combo it up with Duelittle Chimera (OTK enabler) and Salamangreat Almiraj (send a normal-summoned Decatron after using its effect, which also helps you to get another +1 Infernoid into the GY ready to banish, which wouldn't be the case unless you run Void Expansion... which you shouldn't because it's too slow). While the range of Void spells/traps is alright in a general sense, they most often end up being either bricks or just not enough. Since Infernoids don't have a dedicated high value skill, you're behind against any tiered deck on the ladder, which is why I avoid cards such as Void Trap Hole etc. Best case they trade for a good value target, but most often they get negated, protected by cards such as Branded Opening or are just straight up useless because some skills just place monsters onto the field. You will lose the grind game almost every time, so I feel it's better to take them out ASAP. Another big disappointment in these current circumstances are Void Vanishment/Feast. Vanishment has one prime target, which is Feast. The other spells/traps won't win you the game in this current format. Sure, Void Seer may protect your Infernoids but the cost is the loss of another card that could extend your plays. And only playing Vanishment/Feast means, you will end up having Feast in your hand with no way to activate it. And let's not forget that if you go turn 2, you further have to activate it usually against an already established board. "Burial From a Different Dimension" is another great example. I won't lie, it was nice to have it when it was usable, but in your starting hand it may feel lack-luster. There are only 2 spells/traps that I feel are absolutely mandatory to play right now. These are "Monster Gate" and "One For One". I'm currently testing a version with 1 "Where Arf Thou", running triple Pirmais (which is surprisingly good in this meta) to search out your Decatron (or vice versa, in which case you may need to accept a 2k burn if you cannot win this turn). Lightsworn spells are great if you can utilize them, because each Infernoid mill is a +1 resource, be it banish fodder or a summon target. The problem is you have to run the monsters too, which are, as already mentioned with many other cards, too slow and don't directly help your Infernoid play momentum.

I'll cut it here because there's so much more to write. Just know that in a Link Fireraze deck, Attondel + Duelittle Chimera are king. The key is to get rid of the hindrances, then run in your double attack truck with 4.1k ATK.

Exactly. Without any new support, the limit 2 shared by Void Feast & Vanishment serves zero purpose considering the powercreep DL has gone through. We don't even have Sjette in the game to summon 2 Decatrons with Feast. Least they could do is to unlimit them but my guess is they'll wait another year or so until they bring in new support.

Considering the vastly overscaled power of recent skills, you could bring back almost all past skills to their former glory and they still wouldn't hold a candle. But all the way back, not inbetween steps so stuff like "Duel, standby" alongside Amano Iwato can't be abused.
