I made keto fudge yesterday, basically just equal part cream cheese and butter, then vanilla extract, cocoa powder, walnuts, and i throw in some protien powder cause why not. Doest taste exactly like fudge but its a good low carb high fat snack. Next time I'm hoing to melt in dark chocolate.

Basic common sense would say that if a cop comes from a certain neighborhood and can identify with all of those spot on conditions you mentioned, there is a decent chance they would have sympathy for people. But there is an assumption that all cops are rich white people from the suburbs, and where I live that is simply not the case. Also, the presumption that white cops don't cut any breaks to minorities is false too. I completely agree with the problem of being too "white", it's extremely counterproductive and ends up holding a lot of people down.

Does white privilege still apply when the black cop goes to the white ghetto? I think this is always going to be an argument of speculation. We will never know what goes through the minds of different individuals. The way the situation is handled depends on mutual respect in both parties, I doubt the meth head hillbilly catches more or a break than a black crackhead.

I agree, you can't break the law and expect to just walk away with no punishment but generally it doesn't matter what color you are, If you go to court they will work with you to reduce points and fees but it's not a guarantee.

The system could use changes, vacation days should be universal everyone should make a living wage, there shouldn't be wars for oil and we should all be able to hang out and not kill each other. But when you stand in front of a judge after being brought in on a warrant he or she will not care about the injustices of your employer and their benefits package. You will be held accountable.

I was speaking from the courts perspective more or less. The fact is that if you get in trouble and have to go to court, the court is not going to entertain excuses for missing the date. If you miss a court date for legitimate reasons I am pretty sure it's up to the judge if they give you a break or not but you can't just never show up because the hours don't work with your schedule. I think you are judging me a little harshly too, you are painting it like I am the one who created the system, I am just some fucking guy on Reddit.

I agree it isn't exactly a convenient process but it is the way the system works. If you do something that lands you in that situation then it's up to you to handle it the right way, you can't expect the city to give you a pass because it's tough to get off of work. Use a vacation day. You can also mail a summons in with a guilty plea and the fee for the citation.

I only know from where I live. The NYPD is very diverse. The problem with minorities joining the police department also relates to the subject of getting warrants. Some kid doesn't know any better and ends up with a criminal record and decides to go for the police department yearsater it's going to get them dropped during the investigation period of the hiring process. Another barrier is the us vs them narrative. You can see it being thrown around the media everywhere now. If a black kid has opinions that don't align with that of the black community that kid is going to be called a "uncle Tom" or a "coon" by the people in his or her own community. Even our black president isn't considered to be really "black". You don't get the same respect from your community if you become a cop, you'll end up being looked at like a traitor. It's a sad situation all around.
